View Full Version : Cool Looking New Boat Plane

I was browsing around for cheap parts (servos, Rx, etc.) when I came across a site that offered this (http://www.r2hobbies.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcpl71019&cat=43) really cool looking boat plane:

It's certainly rather unconventional looking. But judging by the videos they have linked from the site, it flies pretty well. The construction is fiberglass body and balsa wings. It's a bit pricey ($130+pricey shipping), but I bet it would be a blast to have and fly.

Oh well... guess I'll just have to be content with my Catalina foamie--for now. :)

That appears to be a model of the SEAWIND, a fullsize composite homebuilt flying boat. There is a ~48" foam e-power model available from GP, I think, and a larger 65" f/g version for glow/electric , as well. I've seen the foamy fly, and it's surprisingly aerobatic. Very cool to see in the air over our local lake. :-)
