View Full Version : Guess that PICTURE game.

I saw this on another forum and thought it was cool so I thought it would be fun to start a thread here.

How it works:
I post a photo, folks guess what/who/where it is - the person who guesses correctly then posts a photo of their own and so on. Letís see how creative we can get!:ws:

Photos should be of common things and/or fairly every day stuff, not anything people need to have intimate knowledge of to guess. Triviality and difficulty levels will vary the longer we keep it going. The photo must have been taken by you (so if you're going to guess, make sure you have something). When you post a photo, some hints are always nice.

To get started:
The attached photo is a picture I took in a real church. It is moderately well known so I think somebody here knows where it is at.
Where (city please) is this church located?
Hint: It's a portion of a stained glass window and shield is the 101st Airborne Div.

Right country. Wrong city.

You are correct Sir.

I had the privelige of being in that area for the 60th anniversary of D Day. I got meet a lot of retirees who survived that fateful day.
The city is actually pretty small. It's Carentan.

So our own Fireman Bill wins round 1!!

Cool. I remember seeing some in the Notre Dame when I was in Germany in the 80's but couldn't rememebr what they looked like. We visited many a site while we were there.

Thats the relatively new WWII memorial Monument on the National Mall, in Washington, DC.

I was there the first week it opened in 2004, as I lived just outside of DC in Maryland for 12 years. ;-)

Okay, this one should be fairly straightforward. Pay no attention to the dashingly handsome fellow on the left of the shot who had just come in from outside (hint!) and was freezing his nadgers off at the time. His neck also hurt from craning it skyward (hint! hint!)

Hi GRU. Thanks for joining in the fun.

I have no idea what your picture is of, but from your clues I'll guess "big bronze toe at he NY Museum of Natural History."

btw, we ought to hook up one of these days. We were down in Bul Verde last weekend and we go to SanAntonio pretty often.

Close on the guess, but not a bullseye. Yeah I'd be happy to get together and shoot the stuffing. I work over on the notheast side by the Airport, but I commute from Boerne (aiyee)

Livin up there 'round Ft. Hood, do you have a decent LHS or do you come down to SA for HobbyTown or Rebel? My Brother lives in Dallas and we take 281 through Lampasas up your way all the time.

We have one small hobby shop here in Killeen but he is aimed at the ICE crowd more so than the electrics. He does have a good selection of building materials that I've browsed through and bought from. Hwy281 is definitely the ticket. No Austin traffic at all.

You're both wrong. That is one of the "moon shuttles" from the TV series "Space: 1999" starring Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. I built one of these myself as a kid.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space:_1999

Basically, it was a sort of remake of "Lost in Space" ecxept the "spaceship" was the entire moon, which was blown out of orbit as a result of a tremendous explosion of some kind of radioactive waste dump. Silly, I know. Any explosion powerfull enough to blow the moon out of it's orbit would have destroyed most, if not all of the moon itself. http://mescal.pixelized.ch/smilies/lol.gif

You got it Steve, the Blohm und Voss Bv141. I saw this first in a real old book of my father's which listed planes from all over the world, with photos.
