i recently bought a cheap foamy for $13 shipped from hsgreer on rcgroups.com. it was meant to be a CO2 powered freeflight airplane, but i am going to convert it to RC. it will have:
22.7mm CD Rom motor from gobrushless.com
blue arrow 4.8g or GWS pico servos (undecided)
electrifly 2 cell 340 mAh lipo
GWS 4 channel pico reciever
castle creations phoenix 10 ESC
6x4 or 7x4 propeller
the first thing on the list to get is the motor. i'm talking about the DIY $10 kit. i plan on making it a 17 turn. it will be a slow process, because i need a radio system for my other planes. the specs are:
Wingspan, 27.5 inches; length of model, 21.85 inches; wing area, 118 square inches; airfoil, B-7457 under-cambered section; horizontal stabilizer has flat-bottom lifting section, area is 39 square inches. i think the wing loading is like 3.4 oz/foot, but i'm not sure. should be here next week!

Keep us up to date.
Nothing like a cheap foamy to bash around without worrying about being out a lot of money on them dumb thumb maneuvers. :D

i plan on ordering a gobrushless.com 22.7 mm motor tomorrow sometime. i will make it a 20T most likely swinging a 5x4 prop.
