View Full Version : Grayson Motor Shaft Swap?

I have a Grayson GH2212-06 VII-b Firewall Mount Brushless Motor

and a Grayson 2212-06 V2 which is not Firewall mount. In other words one motor has the shaft sticking out the front, and the other out the back. Can I swap the shafts (one motor is bad)?

Without going into all the details, Grayson thought they sent me the right motor, but they didn't. The motors are about 20.00 and if I ship them back, I'll end up paying more for shipping then the motors are worth.

There is no reason why you cannot fit a shaft the way you want it....I assume both shafts are in fact the same, and you could simply press the shaft through, or reverse it, in the good motor without bothering to touch the one in the bad motor (make sure you undo any set screws or circlips before trying to get the shaft out). If you feel the need to swap shafts, press both shafts out, then press the one you want to use, into the good motor, the right way around.
