I think the alpha is on the heavy side
the solo star would make a better electric
but I'm guessing you already own the alpha

Ultra Stick 60 (clear yellow one)
Motortron 90 ESC
(2) Poly RC 3700's (1 each 4s & 3s)
Will give you about 12-15lbs thrust.

AUW on mine with a tower 75 is about 7 lbs.
This will give you a 2:1 power to weight ratio :-)
Am going to power one with this power set up by the end of the year.
Have powerplant/ESC/Batteries in my 157" Sailplane.
The ESC is programable up to 3 models, so if you put it where you can get to it, you only need to hook it up to your computer and reprogram it (change from model #1 to #2)
You are looking at about $600 + Frt.

Ask for Rich or Jerry, and tell them that Dave Sent you.

I know it sounds a little crazy, but there is nothing like being able to hover, and fly two 6-8 minute flights having a blast.

Since you didn't mention which Ultra Stick have a look-see here:

40 size: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/g2e-h9ultstk40.htm

60 size: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/g2e-h9ultstk60.htm

Alpha 60: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/g2e-h9alpha60.htm

Those are good starting points for the conversions.
