View Full Version : Extremely slow email? 3 weeks to deliver?

I had something happen to me that doesn't make any sense to me.

I sent an email to the Google reflector that our club uses on June 9 th
It didn't show up when I looked at the reflector a few hours later, so I guessed I hit delete instead of send. Usually I can hit send then click on get new messages, and my post will be there.

This time it didn't show up until June 28th

Where could an email hide for almost 3 weeks?????
other emails in and out of my PC were totally normal.

I have a dual boot computer running Ubuntu and Windows 10, I had switched back and forth several times during the 3 weeks so I really don't think the email was stuck in my PC.

Ask Hillary Clinton... Oh I didnt just go there....;)

Seriously though
If I had to guess the email server was not updating to you computer. Did the receiver of the email get the message?

No, no one, got the message until it popped up almost 3 weeks later. I know it was not just involving my PC. Many other emails back and forth to the same destination worked fine.

But no real harm was done, but it shows that emails are not as instant as we think, I have talked to other people that have had the same thing happen but not that much time.

Maybe there was sun spots that day??

I dont know. I kinda doubt it sounds like something fishy on the server side
