I don't know how much of you are into R/C trucks and cars, but I finally finished fixing up my TRAXXAS Stampede.

A little history.

I got it nine years ago as a birthday present back when it still came in kits. No RTR. The first parts for it were the origina Tekin Rebel ESC, Futaba FP-T2GS transmitter/reciever and servo, a Dynamite 1500 6 cell pack and it was geard 18/81. I used to run the stinger 20 turn waaaaaaaaaaay back when it was new, but it just didn't have the kick. So my dad robbed his Green Machine 2 27 turn out of his legends R/C and put it in the stampede. It did make a good difference. It is usually used in the backyard and streets, but has ran on the dirt a few times. The best track it ever ran was a BMX course called "the jumps" down by the local SA. It had a few 3ft tall jumps and a challenging 7 footer in the middle. Those were the best times for the stampede. But, knowing today, the good times faded. The jumps were bulldozed and a bank was put up there and devils angel was turned into a townhome lot. So now the only courses are the local baseball field, TCHR and the street in front of the house.

Over the past year, I dug the stampede out of it's three year storage and ran her. I didn't know what was wrong with it or why it went into storage. I soon found out the idle gear was bald and the rear bearings were shot and the fronts were dying. After the rear bearings and idler gear were in, she ran perfect. She was running like a dream. I had to run on my own since my dad's was down and my brothers was still not here yet, but it was some godd running.

Well, after the 9 year old green machine died, we replaced it with a 19 turn Trinity Chameleon 2 pro. The end bell cracked when the solderlesses tried coming off and decided they didn't wanna. So now here's the new parts

Novak Rooster ESC
Futaba 2PLreciever/S3003 servo/transmitter set
Venom 1800/ 3000 packs

That was a post I made on another site 1 year ago. Now I just finished putting all the mods on. It now has Proline Masher 2000 tires, black wheels, RPM 5X11 bearing carriers, RPM wide front bumper and alot more. See pics below for final outcome.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice. I think I am going to have to get my old Pede out and fix it up too. Probably the most fun R/C Truck of the 6 or so I have owned.

What body do you have on it now, is that some sort of Bronco?

I love Stampedes!!! I own: Stampede, Nitro Stampede, Bandit, Blast, Villain, and a Nitro Rustler, they are all very reliable and fun. Soon you will really appreciate the rpm front bumper, I have hit so many things!!!:D

Thanks man, I appreciate it!

It was well worth it. They are alot of fun and you don't have to wait until it's calm out to drive them. And yes, its an 87-91 fullsize bronco body.

How good is the nitro stampede? I was looking into nitro, but I figure if I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'd atleast get 4WD. That RPM bumper is a life saver and a wallet saver too!

For me, it will always be my favorite. I allways wrecked it and never broke parts because of my front end was so strong. I had rpm aluminum a arms, titanium turnbuckles, and aluminum shocks. I also upgraded to a aceracingproducts exhaust for and unbelievable performance. The only thing I didn't like was the traction. I would reccomend this truck, but there are so many others that have bigger engines in them. I forgot to mention I have a t-maxx that isn't as tough as the Stampede. I really wouldn't get a nitro (personal preference) because they are just a big waste of time, so unreliable when you can just get an electric for half the price and half the hassle. But, if you really want a nitro, I would personally get a revo or something that is not out of date such as the Nitro Stampede. Good luck with your decision

Hey thanks, I have a friend wit a Savage 25 and a hyper 7 buggy and he is now looking to get back into electric. I guess, they're just not as smelly and slimy and they runcleaner and cheaper. Thanks for the feedback though!
