So you have the recommended Efl stock upgrade Park 400 with the orig gearbox right??
The brushed 480 doesn't sound like it would be much of a power upgrade to me. The Cub was pretty anemic compared to the little TP 1049 brushess I have on it now.
The idea of a four bladed prop still appeals to me maybe I should go with that.
I'm cornfused now about the motor gearbox combo maybe I should just get an outrunner without the gear box.....I need to do some research I reckon...
    How's the Waco?

I've got the Park 400 inrunner and gearbox at 6:1 (I think). The brushed 480 is the same one that comes in the Super Cub, just so you have an idea of what to expect.

Thanks for the info Doug. I'm not certain now if all the extra power just to run a 4 blade is worth it now. Somebody gave me a 480 brushed motor I may stick on it at least temporarily. I'm going to need the power with all the extra details I've been adding. (gear struts and doors, antenna and mast. What else? I have trouble remembering it's foam park flyer.
What are you running on your Jug?

Yep, that's outside diameter. The Park 400 inrunner is a 20mm motor, pretty much identical to the Himax 2025 series. I have one Park and 2 Himax motors. Both are great. The stock E-F gearbox works great for a 20mm inrunner, although you have to get a different spur gear and matching pinion gear. Figure on maximum power of about 225 watts with this setup. If you need the extra power to turn a 4-bladed prop, then I would suggest getting a 28mm inrunner and a beefier gearbox like a Cobri. I don't know of a 28mm E-Flite motor, but Himax makes them, as does Mega. sells those motors plus the Cobri gearbox. HobbyCity has some inexpensive off-brand inrunners if you want to save a few $$. I'm sure they would work well too.

    Thanks John....
Hey I mounted a steeable tailwheel (from a PZN Corsair) on the P-47 and it works like charm. Wow am I happy with it.....going to upgrade to a little more power though.

    Take care

Hey John you're so very welcome...I wasn't sure how they would look. That's only the second time I've tried posting something like that. When I can afford it I'm going to get a proper video camera that is if I quit buying more airplanes.
Maidened the P-47 yesterday and all went well. Kinda underpowered with that stock brushed motor though - compared to the Corsair. It flies pretty nice but I like the Caorair better for sure. I'm planning to upgrade to the Park 400 Inrunner with the stock gear box hopefuilly soon. I think I like the sound of a geared motor....

THANKS so very much for putting up those great videos on vimeo!
You did a fantastic job! I got one pretty decent video clip of you landing the cub. I'll post it on RCU and send you the link. :-)

Doug, I know the endless fiddling syndrom too well sometimes. Especially when it's something I'm really proud of. I'll bet you'll have some stunning photos and video -
I've been sick the last few days and have accomplished nothing further on the WW but hope to have it ready for a maiden when Mike, Josh and max2112 arrive for a planned get togehter.
    Best -
