It looks like winds may subside by tomorrow. I hope you get your Freebird ready and you can bring it with you. I may go out his eve if the air quites moving so fast and it looks agreeable. Or maybe not.....I'll be on my cell if you need to call.

Anxious to see it go. Here's some data on the motor if you are interested - I got it from Jeff at HeadsUpRC - he is the man when it comes to researching the motors he sells (scroll down and look at the prop data) (sometimes his links don't work right, dunno why)

Anyways I think this is the perfect motor for the SC - it provides 29oz of thrust (not overwhelming) and its optimum prop is the one you are already flying on her (TP 10x5e).

I have the 25A ESC and the ParkBEC in a pouch already.

My FreeBird Sailplane comes in tomorrow - I'm hoping to have it in the air by Friday. Gotta slap some servos in it and balance it - shouldn't be too hard I don't guess.

Hey Dick. I got some video from Oshkosh up on Vimeo. There's a link on my Visitor Messages page. More to come when I can get to it.

Thanks for the info Doug. I wasn't sure how long the rechargable batts that came with the Tx lasted. I thought the GB battery space was pretty big but couldn't remeber. I don't think I'll be adding anything bigger than a 2500 - if that, for a while. I would like to add a bigger battery if it would add usable weight up front rather than adding lead if needed.
Glad you made it back ok and hope you had a terrific time. Stay in touch. I think I'm returning home within ten days or so and hopefully will meet Mike and do some Gee Bee flying...
    Take care.

Hey Dick. I'm finally back from Oshkosh. We took the long way home :-)

You had some questions about batteries a couple days ago. The Gee Bee battery compartment is huge, so I suspect you could put just about any size you want in there. Of course there is a weight cost to having a larger battery, but I think you could go all the way up to 4000 mAh if you wanted to. Big bucks for a battery like that though!

As for Tx lipos, I don't think they are necessary unless you are flying all day long day after day. I only charge my Tx batteries (NiMH) every week or so as I rarely have it powered up for more than a couple hours in a typical week. I don't bother to recharge if I'm only out for 2 or 3 evening flights. My Tx battery lasts for probably 5 or 6 hours of use and has a good voltage meter on it, so I'm not worried about running it out of juice in flight.

Your the man....I just bought another Ryan ST from a guy in Austin. I already have one I bought twenty years ago that's been in the box under the bed. Couldn't pass it up. Can't have to many STA's.
I've been flying my Real flight Sym daily since I got here. Hopefully it'll help in the transition to the GEE BEE.
Keep in touch...I'll be on line a few more minutes if your quick

Hey Dick. I just got out of the field. My leave dates have changed, but shouldn't be a problem with your schedule. I'll probably be taking leave on the 4th-10th of August. I just transferred to a new unit.

As far as batteries go, I use 3s 2200mah 20C to fly my Gee Bee. I haven't quite got my watt meter, but everyone raves about the Wattsup meter. I'm definitely down for linking up. I actually flew my Gee Bee today with max2112. I'm looking real hard into the Green Models black/yellow and red/white kits. I think I may buy them both...start my own little fleet.
