I am about to enter the world olf a123 batteries and make my battery packs from cell purchased from Hobby City. What wire size (gauge) wire do you use when constructing your battery packs?
Many thanks for all the constructive posts!

Hey, look! you got a message! Now I can bug you directly for everyone to see ;)
Actually I've got an interesting setup for how I currently charge my A123s at home. I happened upon a very nice Lapp power supply and it allows me to charge cc/cv at very high rates. Unfortunately I don't have any data, but I could start recording some. I have NOT been able to charge A123s over 15 Amps for any amount of time CC/CV. There just isn't enough voltage to keep the rate up. At pack voltage (10.8-11.0V) the current will start out close to 18, immediately fall to 15, then settle out at 10 or 11A until it suddenly drops about 10 minutes later.

So if I rip charge at 12 V, (simulated on P/S) the pack voltage quickly jumps beyond 11 volts and I quickly get scared and knock it back down with the voltage control. Is it safe to leave it charge at 12V? Won't the packs vent that high?
