When you get into more complex builds you'll find you end up doing anything that just works, including different material and things that aren't even on plans

Thanks for the help. I was leaning that way but wanted to be sure before I put the glue to it. Never hurts to ask!!

I looked at your build, match up the halves with the stab. That little spacing in the middle is the dowel place. Dab some glue on the halves, put in dowel and you can use the stab itself to line everything up.

A slot going lengthwise down each half? That's not a bad thing, more surface area for glue. Just have to make sure you sand rounded or a v'ed center hinge, but typical on elevators the area is skinny so it ends up rounded.

Where do I find your P51 build at?

There is a slot already cut into the two elevator halves for the dowel. The instructions say to attach the elevators with a piece of 3/16th inch dowel. I just read it on the online fuse manual and it's the same as the one in my kit. I will check out your P51 build also. Thanks.

I have not built the EVA, but it sounds the same as the P51. Lay the elevator halves on plans, and glue dowel across halves, so that the dowel is in between the elevator and the horizontal stab end. The dowel is the pivoting area. Do not notch the areas so the dowel sits in the elevator, just glue on surface, unless you plane to sand the edge of the elevator round to match the roundness of the dowel. This is, however, what I did on my P47, but on the P51 the dowel made the round area for pivoting

Hey there I have a question for you. Have you built the EVA sport from Mountain Models? If so How did you glue the 3/16 dowel piece to the elevators? I'm not sure If I lay the elevators flat and glue the round stock in or if I'm supposed to center the elevators on the round stock. Thanks for your time.
