I started flying in March of 2003 with a small electric RTF. Since then I have become more of a pilot. I fly pure gliders for TD, DLG, slope and aerotow. My electrics include the Radian, Easy Glider Electric, Aerobird Challenger, HobbyZone Phantom, Carbon Kestral, Carbon Falcon, GWS AT6, SmoothE, Night Vapor, micro Sukhoi, Electrajet, Piper Cub and two micro helis.
I fly a pair of Futaba 9C Super radios on 72 MHz as well as Spektrum and Futaba 2.4 GHz. I went the module route so I could switch either radio to 2.4 or 72 without problems.
I am a member of the Long Island Silent Flyers.
www.lisf.org. I published numerous articles for RCEzine, RC Soaring Digest and Model Aviation. However most of my articles have been posted on the forums with the goal of helping new electric and glider pilots. I also published an e-book on Wattflyer and RCUniverse, “Everything You Wanted to Know About Electric Flight”.
I hope you enjoy this hobby as much as I do.
