Futaba T6EXAP Transmitter

I have not used this radio in a couple of years now. I thought I will get the old glider out and fly it. Charged the radio and it only showed 9.6 volts. Not a problem I will replace the bad cells in the battery pack. Removed the pack and all cells show close to full charge the pack showed 11.5 volts with my multi meter. I replaced the battery pack in the radio and again 9.6 volts. I did this several times each time the same thing. Is there a way to reset the radio program I guess is what I am asking. Any ideals out there why this is happening.

I guess I am not thinking right any more. I had a blond day or something. I am recovering from a triple bypass and have some missing memory spots right now. Anyway it hit me the 8 cell putting out 1.2 volts each is only 9.6 volts so for some reason my multi meter is the one not working. I do not know how to remove this post or I would.

No worry. Glad you figured out what was going on.

  1. Better replace all Tx and Rx cells, they are too old, too long without use/usage/cycling.
  2. A fully charged NiMH cell fresh from charger can give 1.4 -1.5volt. Voltage will drop after a few minutes. Nominal voltage is 1.2volt.
  3. Measuring a battery's voltage without a load doesn't tell much about battery condition/aging.
  4. Multimeter is ok :)
