Thought I would share a bit of video we took yesterday. This is the ExtremeFlight Profile Yak 54. It is a 48" X fuse balsa profile. Came in around 2.5 lbs if I recall.

My set up is:
2814-820,
3S 2170 FP
Airboss 45a ESC
14X7 APC.

A really nice feature on this plane is the plug in wings. A 48" wingspan plane is right there in the middle of being hard to transport for some.

Any who..here is what we shot yesterday:

that's a really nice looking plane... you really smacked the tail on that one torque roll, I thought she was going down

Great video Mike, you really showed what the plane is capable of including some stress testing at the end. :Q

I bet parachutes and walls are awesome on this plane as well.

Yeah, I wish my props were as strong as the plane :). The ending only resulted in a broken 14X7. Of course not the first...and definitely not the last :D

Awesome video!

Great stick-work Mike!:tc:

I like the fact that the wing are fully symmetrical.

At least the APC's are cheap compared to the XOAR's. I know it wasn't intentional but the video shows that the Yak can take some abuse - a smack like the one at the end would have resulted in some repair work on a foamy like my Airfoilz. This plane is a "must have" for me, just got to sell a few things first.

Good stuff Mike. I thought it was the full fuse when I first glanced at the video.

The 48" TM Pro Extra 260 Profile balsa ARF has wing tip SFGs we haven't tried them yet but we got 3 flights on her this weekend see thread for pics. and video. I can't believe our Extra 260 weighs 1 lb. more than the Yak we came in at 3 Lbs 5 oz. Check your AUW again Mike so's we can compare these 2 planes. The TM pro was a nitro .50 c. c. we converted to a power 25

I'm almost finished with my Yak, just need to find the CG and decide where to mount the battery. I want to be able to easily remove the wings for transport so I had to really consider where I mounted everything and how I routed all the wiring. Here's some pictures of how everything came out.

I got the maiden out of the way this afternoon and all went well. AUW is 45oz and even with a 4S 2200 th plane was tail heavy and would climb hard inverted. I kept the flight short but the plane was very easy to control and I was able to land with no issues. If it flys this good tail heavy I can't wait till I have her all dialed in.

Any word if Atlanta Hobbies is going to sell the kit or is it direct thru Chris Hensen?

I'm not sure. However, you can get the plane, power combo, servos and extensions all through Chris and usually he will give you combo pricing. He also has better deals on the Hitec Servos so I would give Chris a call.
