Well,rob I have been flying the funky40 more and more.Still getting use to it.Last week I tried high rate elevator and it's funny to watch a plane do square loops.Also today I was flying and did a violent snap with the plane and loss the battery cover.So thats the only work to be done.As for landing ,this is the only plane that I have evr flown that comes in nose high.But also it's like a pattern plane, where you point it is where it will go.Today during my final flight I tried high rates on the alieron's,"CORK SCREW!!!:D:D". I'm also using expo for the first time and it's taking me some time to get use to it.Once I get my new radio I will be able to really see what this 3d thing is all about.Like I say go out and buy the kit and you'll really have a nice plane.Plus you!! the builder have the luxery to make any modifications you want to the plane.

APC 14x7, Magnets came loose in flight. One smoked AXI. This is becoming VERY frustrating.

Enut, As for the battery hatch, the plane flexes pretty well at the wing saddle area, thus popping the magnet latch. I have begun screwing mine down.

I haven't had any issues with my axi.Even when I was pulling the big amps through the motor.Like I said I rechecked my amp draw and now I have it at a safe level.Abour 43.5 amp 990 watts.Wsa your axi new? check with hobby lobby.I though those motor's had some kind of warrenty?

"Was it new?" Nope :(. Bought it off one of the "other" forums. Oddly enough, Seems to be some rust inside the bell. Wouldn't surprise me if this motor went for a swim for the previous owner. Win some, lose some.:o

Improvement! I epoxied the magnets back into the Tunigy 50-55B. I think the 600kv is BS. I need to tach it. I am now pulling 750 watts at 4S with an APC 14x7. The Axi 660kv was pulling 530w with same set up. Flies much better now and no noticable heat from motor or esc.

She is done :sad:. Dumb thumbed her in after trying to hold the inverted flat spin of a blender too long.:sad: Two piece wing:sad::sad:, shattered nose:sad:, fractured wing saddle:sad: etc.
I should have known better. I just e-mailed CA models to see if I could get my hands on another kit, about 2 hours before the crash:blah:.
Not happening.:mad:
Too big of a repair for now. I will rebuild in the winter.:{:{:{

I guess I found the expiration date on her.:o

Lookin at a Extra 300 s 63"wing ARF to donate the electonics too.:o

Happy Landings all.:)

Rob ,that sure stinks man.Sorry to see you lost the plane.Did you check the importer of ca models.netbox hobby I beleive is the name they are out of florida.As for mine,I finally got he plane to fly more like a sport plane .The whole thing was a real aft c/g. I had help from a club memember and just kept moving battery forward.But now I have to deal witha higher landing speed and increase my low rate throw on the elevator.Also my battery tray is marked where the battery goes .Now for more fine tuning and flying the plane.

The plane was lost in a low inverted flight.I pulled back instead of pushing forward.This will end my 3d flying for a while.It was kooooool plane and may build another.Now it's time to strip the gear and creamate the body:sad:
