Well i did manage a vertical take off and flew ok but then the next time i tryed it she looped and crashed hard.

Nice looking Duster. Tempted to prepare one of those for when the grass and warmer temps return.

My Mini4 is more than 1:1 ratio on a prop .... but when I tried the vertical out of hand - she screwed over into a torque dive ... just couldn't stop her in time .. lucky no damage.

Next time Home -must break out my T45 50mm and try the vertical as she has 1.2 to 1 ....

Well thanks Mike and good luck with your build.
I flew mine this morning and it was -4deg. out with 4mph wind and all i had to do was give it a little aileron trim. She fly's very well and i was happy to get the maiden in without any issues. I could only stay out long enough for a few circuits and one roll before i got too cold. Had to get back in the house and warm up. Lookin forward to another flight soon.

Weighs 22oz

Murman 03-30-2014 06:01 PM

This is my latest build, it's called the SlowBoat by Scott Swanson on RCG. During the build, I decided to add LEDs so I could fly it at night on the pond at SEFF. I now call it the GlowBoat!!:D It flies so well, I was able to drag one wingtip in the water on the maiden flight!!
Here she is during the final stages of construction...

...And here she is flying at dusk...

Crashalott 03-30-2014 08:00 PM

Very nice there Murman and they are easy on props too.
I built one a few years back like that called Mermaid.

The Raven

1 Attachment(s)
Here is my latest build called the raven.
A very nice aerobatic type plane which in the right hands can do 3D type
flying.
Maidened it yesterday and it was very good.
And managed to make a nice landing without a noseover.

Thanks. We had 3 of these on the lake at SEFF at one time. We all got pretty good at dragging a wingtip on the water in graceful circles. The lights were great because once the sun went down, we had the lake to ourselves.

Here is my latest build, another Bipe.
I like Bipe's cause they just seem to fly so easy like and make great
landings. Have not maidened it yet, maybe in the morning if the wind is
down enough.

Crash:)
