How to configure dx6i with apprentice's SAFE technology.
Wondering if anyone knew how to configure the dx6i tx to the e-flight apprentice so that the SAFE technology will be activated. Do I need to set this up on the tx or does it do it automatically once I bind the receiver to the dx6i? I have read both manuals but haven't had much luck.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi again, Newbie. (Just thought, what will you do about your screen name when you're no longer a newb?) Anyway, hate to do this, but check your Apprentice manual, top of page 23. It describes what switches do what, and what programming is required. (Dx6i flap switch is default at 0/0 up/down. So you'll have to change those to +100 and -100 respectively.) And ignore the "Dx6" line. That's a different radio than the Dx6i.

And then it says you'll only have 2 SAFE flight modes available. You'll have to go to the bottom of page 22 to set up your rx as to which 2 flight modes you want. Are you up flying mostly intermediate now? Just choose that and experienced modes if so. Good luck!

Here's a couple of links that have a few good observations and details related to the Apprentice w/SAFE and a DX6i:

The manual for the DX6i and Apprentice are really your best two options!

Ok, I used that info you guys provided to figure it out.
I was able to use the SAFE technology mode to assist me landing.
Did a few landings then tried it without the SAFE activated, still in one piece!!!
Thanks, again, for the help.
