As long as the ESC is rated to handle 14s you should be ok. Throttling a motor from a higher voltage may reduce its efficiency a touch and thus increase its heat generation for the same power level.

Provided the grain goes the right way 3 x 1/8" 3 ply will be stiffer than one 3/8" 7 ply.
3 x 1/8 should have 6 laminations with the grain across the joint. 7 ply will only have 4.
Of course this...

From research on a 400 (or 380) the mounting holes are M2.5 thread. On a 540 motor they are M3.
From my RC car days you have to be careful not to screw in too far or it will touch the winding and...

The Bristol M1C (https://drawingdatabase.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/bristol-m1c.gif) was definitely rigged with some dihedral. About 2 degrees per side.

You might find radio reception was rather poor when on the water as the aerial in the floats would be very low down.
As the float would not have a motor there is no ESC so all you need...

It does rather sound like your EDF was seriously inlet restricted without the cheat holes. I would expect the added thrust (and speed) cured all your...

At 11.9 oz/sq ft you need to be careful if and when you motorise it to avoid an upward weight spiral given that it is no light weight to start with.
You could easily end up with a 'sport plane' wing...

I would still suggest that it is the dihedral angle of the outer wing panels that is important for good RET control along with some washout to reduce the tendency for the inner wing tip to...

No ailerons on such a glider seems a bit optimistic unless the wing has significant dihedral and/or washout to give adequate aerodynamic roll stability.
No full size glider with such shape would...

I don't doubt the benefit of Anderson connectors but everything electronic is soldered even the power wires from an ESC. Solder can't be that bad.
