When I got mine I did the tug test on the mains as some people were saying they were loose or coming out on landing. Mine seemed to be glued in very well. Total of 8 flights so far with no issues....

I see a wide range of prices just by doing a Google search for 2212 1000kv. For peace of mind, I'd suggest any listing that shows the brand name Suppo. I used those motors for years without issue.

Could be that this setup is intended for quad copters, so with 4 motors running to share the load they can run a bigger prop at less RPMs. Using this on a fixed wing, you definitely want to prop down.
