Start with the EPP piper...easiest to build and fly...don't worry about cutting in the ailerons at first but use a 4 channel rceiver, the dihedral in the wings takes care of leveling...

I've always been told, I hope correctly, that a 1 to 1 thrust to weight ratio was plenty for a plane of that type. Weight meaning AUW or everything including the motor on board weight....
