Less than 50g.

For example, I tested the motor from an MS1224 CDROM drive and got the following parameters:-

Kv=1070 rpm/V
Rm=2.3 Ohms
Io=0.18 Amps

On 3S with a GWS EP3020 it draws...

This is the HFS05MS (40MHz version), but most of the parts are the same. The input filter cap is only rated for 6V, so it is the most likely victim if your BEC went over-voltage.

I entered the the motor's catalog data (8.4v, 23400rpm, 2.3A, 94A) into Motocalc (http://www.motocalc.com (http://www.motocacl.com/)) to get the motor constants. Then I created a project with all the...

The Towerpro Mag8 70A ESC needs a 4-6 cell Lipo battery, it won't work on 3S. Your only choices are to get a 4S battery, or a different ESC.

I estimate that it would draw 34A on 3S. You will need a controller that can handle at least 35A, with Lipo cutoff and a BEC that can power 3 servos on 3S. Medusa Research's Spectrum 40A is suitable,...

If it runs the motor and doesn't get hot then I doubt there's anything wrong with it. Most likely your radio is only going to about 2/3 throttle.

Try swapping the channels of your ESC and a servo,...

Your motors are just a bit hotter than a 7.2V Speed 400 (which does [email protected]). You should be able to run them safely on 3S Lipo. With a 3:1 gearbox and GWS EP1060 prop, I estimate 9A current...

There are only two Wattmeters I know of that record peak current and minimum voltage. Neither of them specify the measurment period.

I bought a few VTS-05A servos to try out, not expecting top quality but I was still disappointed. They do draw reasonably low current as expected, but they have a very wide deadband.

Two design...

5 minute epoxy usually goes brittle and breaks easily. Use a slow curing high strength epoxy, or Loctite Retaining Compound (eg. 609, 638). Clean the metal surfaces to remove any oil before gluing.

Timing is like the spark ignition timing advance on an IC engine. A higher advance causes power to be switched to the motor coils earlier, thus increasing rpm and producing a bit more power (and also...

Ferrite magnets are good up to about 570F. The gearbox would melt long before the motor got to that temperature. More likely the armature windings are cooked (look for blackened or bubbled...

The Speed controller is auto-calibrating. Initially it will go to full throttle at about half stick, but as you continue to move the stick up the controller will re-calibrate to the new position. For...

Not quite, but yes a 10A ESC would probably fry.

To get 6A battery current the throttle would need to be set at about 50%. With a 50% PWM ratio, the battery current is 12A during the 'ON' half...

No.

In an EDF55 fan the BLM005 draws 190W and generates 13.4oz static thrust, compared to 77W and 6.4oz for the EM300H (and that's above the brushed motor's maximum power rating).

In a 4.43:1...
