Does anyone know where to purchase a new shaft for an Atlas outrunner? I contacted Hobby-Lobby, and they do not carry parts for the Atlas motors that they sell.

I crashed and broke the shaft on my...

Multiplex Magister flies great

I've been flying my Multiplex Magister with an Axi 2820/10 with the optional fan installed, Phoenix 54 ESC, APC 12 x 6 pro, and 4,600 mAh 4s2p A123 pack. It's still about 20 grams lighter than spec...

Repairing foam models

I really like to use polyurethane glue and water for repairing foam models. It's easy to fill in holes in the foam. First, use blue painters tape to make any forms needed to keep the foaming glue...

Maybe replace the fan assembly?

Had to replace the nose gear steering servo, cause of stripped gears.

Went to fly the airplane, and the fan assembly sounded like it was slipping again on the motor shaft. I'm thinking I ought to...

I use a GWS EP-9050

I use a GWS EP-9050. I have trouble keeping the o-rings from
breaking. The motor seems to have some sharp edges that cut
them?

I used the recommended power system, but with a Castle

Check your fan!!!

I have had no problems with the servos, and had several really nice flights with the airplane this week. The airplane is slow, but easy to fly. It's easy to land smoothly.

During my last two...

Color is 'greener', CG location, radio setup?

After that paint dries, it is 'greener' than the greys on the F22.

I've got my radio setup for the F22. I went with the conventional
two aileron servo, two ailevator setup on my 12FG. Has anyone...

Found paint that is pretty close

I'll answer my own question. Testors Spray Enamel #1233, Flat
Light Aircraft Grey is pretty close. Just a touch darker, but many
people will not notice.

Mine was bashed in shipping, too. Paint that matches?

Mine was bashed in shipping a little worse. The manufacturer needs to
actually put some protection in there for the aft end of the airplane!

I got back to working on it today. Straightened out...

My battery has never ejected, either, even during my crash landings. I did cut the

Much sturdier than the 3 mm depron

The kits such as the Aerocat and Charger RC which use 5 or 6 mm depron
are much sturdier than the airplanes made from 3 mm depron. They also
break, but are easier to fix for me.

The Aerocat will...

Got it fixed up

I got it all fixed up. Used scrap foam that the pieces were cut out of to
create 'splints' over the breaks. Glued them on. It's definitely stiffer than
it was.

When the plastic blocks that...

No, it is very fragile. Easy to damage the landing gear by ripping the plastic
carbon rod supports out of the foam. Also, the fuselage foam broke during the same landing in the grass in my yard.

Lots of parts, and most of them need trimming

These FlatOut models have lots of parts, and most of the plastic bits need trimming, drilling, or reaming. You'll still have a hell of a time getting the 'z-bend' arm to go through the control horn....
