I wish I could be there and act as your Spotter, Dick.

Those planes are beauties for sure.

As a note of interest to you we've got Octoberfest here this weekend and I'm scheduled to serve beer from 3-6. Wish we could all get together, join in some flying and some beer tasting.

Finally got the motor changed out to a Monster Power 46 with a 14x10 APC E prop. Then still had to add several oz's of fwd ballast.
It flew pretty well but ground ops sucked with nose overs during taxi on the rough surface over on the west side of the fairgrounds.
Did one landing - looked like a real greaser then she hit a rough spot and over she went. No serious damage but not sure how much trouble it'll be to take the wheel pants off and adjust the gear more fwd.
er your involved in
Going out agin tomorrow AM - the Wx is too perfect....
I may try to maiden the Spit if I can get both gear to operate.
I'll be your Huckelberry

Just checking in folks, lol. I see it's been over two weeks since the last post. I sure do hope everyone is doing ok. Hope to see you guys in December before X-mas.
P.S. I know it won't be Octoberfest anymore, but I'm sure up for some beer tasting, lol.

everything is good for the most part since it finally started to cool off.
Made repairs to the Red Lion and hung a Monstor Power 60 on it and modified my mod to the bat compartment to hold a 5s 4400. The good new is it balances without further ballast up front.

It's finally cooling down now but Josh is too busy to do anything buit work.
Flew the Red Lioon on a Monstor Power 46 - it flew well - approach and landing looked sweet but rolled into a rough spot and turned over tearing the motor box off and damaging the wheel pants.
Repairs were made and I decided to hang a Monstor power 60 on her to eliminate the extra ballast from the 46. It flew well - approach and x-wind landing looked okay till it drifted off the runway and hit some gravel. Over she went again this time damaging the wheel pants......repairs yet to made.
Sorry for the long post I'm going to call Rose and check in with her this week -
Stay in touch when you can buddy....hope all is well and we'll see you soon.

Working on it man. Went a whole year without flying
. Can't wait to get back on the sticks. I honestly feel that's why my flying has gotten a tad bit worse...I don't have the consistency or the regular time on the sticks. I fly for a while, then it's time to leave for a year. I get back, and it takes time to get used to again. By the time I get myself back where I need to be, it's time to go again.

I really think you'd like this Corsair I have a lot. Tremendous value for the money considering what you get with it and the size. I'm waiting on some replacement gear parts for it right now and miss flying it.
Meantime I'm finally finishing up that E-Flite P-51B - finsihed installing a retract tailwheel and modified the canopy. Still have a few more little details but she's basically ready to maiden soon.
I'll give Rose a call this weekend -
Best,
Dick

I have no idea...he moved to SA and got involved with a lot of work I think and I don't hear anything from him anymore. I talked to him on the phone about 2-3 months ago and we were going to get together but he didn't make it. (Can't remember when we flew together last may have been last Spring or early Summer.)
I'm a lone eagle so git yer nasty, sandy butt home and fly with me.

Here's what i got to do today, lol. I was tasked to escort some civilians today. they work for Scan Eagle, which is a catapult launched UAV. I took a short video of it launching and another video of it coming in for retrieval.
It's powered by a 28cc RC engine. This aircraft costs about $80,000.00. It is flown mostly by computer with set waypoints, managed by a GPS system. However, they do have an actual RC Futaba radio in case the computer fails and has to be flown manually. However, these folks told me that they have never had any classes or training on how to fly, lol.
