Default Dambusters - Legends of WW2 & Beyond...

ok, here's a bit of history for all you fliers out there. Like the picture? Its none other than Barnes Wallace who developed the bouncing bomb for the dam busting raids of WW2. The photo was taken for Barnes' 90th birthday with a Vulcan from 617 squadron doing a low pass over his garden for a photo shoot for a magazine in the 1970's. The pilot of the Vulcan??? My Dad!

Thanks for sharing this and pretty cool your dad flying a Vulcan, and honor Mr. Barnes with a flyby.
I watched this video on the anniversary of the Derwent Dam bombing some of the original members were present.

You sure have alot to be proud of and I'm thankful for your Dad's heroism. What a mission that was ! A major blow to the Nazi's. It's sad to see this Greatest Generation pass on. My Dad was a Tech Sargeant / Crew Chief on a B-24 Lib with the 93rd Bombardment Group stationed in N England near Manchester. They were also in N Africa. His group flew the Polesti Oil field raids.

Salutations to your Dad !
