This one is just an exaggeration of what is coming...
We can laugh at it or cry about it.

I recommend reading Orwell's Animal Farm.

I want the link to the original source of the clip.

Orwell's Animal Farm, a Fairy Story......was required reading for most high school seniors during the late 60's and early 70's.....and was also required reading for most undergrad political science, sociology and economic majors...still suggested reading today as a satire reflection of the Russian revolution during Stalinism...or any real time socalistic dictated up-rising.......really don't don't see it's relevance related to this thread...Orwell's 1984 "Big Brother" would be more associated to this "Ordering Pizza" satire....!

I'd take it down but am having trouble doing so. Don't know how.

Ironically, this started along time before the AFA and was started originally by the left of the left ACLU. The PC police usually comes from the left too. LOL. It was pretty funny though

It's fine - the mods have talked about it. It really does not point to Obama, rather the health care act and big brother.

I suspect we are good. If someone feels really strongly let us know.

Default Well if cant beat them at least make fun of them.

Can you still order Pizza in Great Britain or Canada? Hmmmm I think so? Don't they and every other devoloped nation exept the USA have a form of national health care? I think they still have pizza too? Seems someone likes to try to spread fear? I did not find this funny at all and I think it should be taken down. Oh and I guess affordable health care is bad idea too?

My next door nieghbor is married to an englishmen from London. She is from the USA, and had a heart attack here in the USA. She had no insurance and had to take out bankrupsy and lost her house. While her husband was in england trying to get his immagration papers done so he could come to the USA he had a massive headache went to the hospital and they found a brain tumor. In two months he had two brain surgerys and kemo, They said it was the most agressive type of brain cancer you can have. He didn't make it. His funeral is on September 6th he was 52. But the medical bills were all paid, no one went bankrupt and no one lost there house or anything else. But then I guess the one percent didn't benifit from all the equity in his house either. His daughter got his house.

Ya RRapper....what you elude to in Canada and Europe is called Socialism (Social Welfare).......Mexico has it too!....you really should read up on it and get the complete picture (there are many forms of it throughout the world).....there's a reason it dosen't work here in the US in the same fashion....that's called Capitalism (Competitive Enterprise)......another good subject to catch-up on!

Socialistic Capitalism...make for strange bedfellows.........Pizza, on the other hand, can be found in many combinations throught the world and it doesn't care what your social political preference is.....just needs to know the size and toppings one prefers.........

Edit:

I suspect the younger RepRapper representitive has likely posted the previous response......just an educated guess!

Note to moderator:

While I tried not to make this politcal, I have been called out, and insulted, and feel the need to respond.

This is exactly why this thread should be taken down. As far as not knowing what the affordable health care act is pizzano maybe you should do your homework. Since I have been working Nathoinal Health Care for the last twenty five years. Maybe you just need to talk to my neighbor? And explain how good our system is? This is supossed to be about airplanes. And this thread is supposed to be funny not offensive. And I know a lot of people that would be offended by this post. I know I am. I know my neighbor would be also. The rules say these threads should not get political. This one is on a politically hot topic and has no place here.

As far as not knowing what I am talking about, in a nutshell here is the real issue: Most insurance company's exist to make a profit. How do they make more profit? By denighing coverage. As long as capitalism can make more profit with "small print " legalese" and ever changing rules, that have hoops they make you jump through and manipulate to there advantage. So they can make more "profit" we will continue to have the most expensive medical care in the world that covers the lowest percentage of its people. They use scare tactics, like this thread started out with. When I was over benfits for my company we had one insurance company that would denigh coveage at least three times before they would pay any medical bill. They made a fortune just on floating there premiums. Sometimes capitalism does not work. Like when insurance company's up their premiums because you get sick. Or denighing coverage for a pre-existing condition. Or cherry picking people to insure. Or passing the old people off to medicare, when they need there coverage the most. Hmmmm yah think? I guess socialized medicen is okay when it gets to expensive for the capitalist to make their obcene profits. And I guess covering only the healthy, so you make more money. And not covering the the sick, and old, and the poor, making the government do it, is pretty funny if you are an insurance company.

Living in a pretty much forgotten Island south of Australia means that the rest of the world goes by without too much notice. I do hear lots of strange things about the good ol' USA though, on the radio. I understand why you want to keep politics out of the humour thread, although making a joke out out of something like this does appear to open up some raw feelings.

The clip is taking Obamacare and Mayor Bloomberg's recent dietary regulations combined with NSA. and Homeland Security's "big brother is watching" to extremes...

The real problem is that those extremes are possible to be implemented.... one step at a time.

I noted in some youtube clips that British police have licence scanners which give the police immediate notification to stop people and SEIZE THE CAR if the insurance is out of date. The US hasn't gone that far yet.

Rep Rapper,

When I first posted this, I simply thought it was genuinely funny. My first thought when I heard it was: “Animal Farm” Didn’t mean to offend anyone . It was actually created by the ACLU, a group that is generally known to be far left and a group that says it strives to protect our civil liberties. They are also a group that’s proud to remove nativity scenes and the word Christmas. Does that offend you?

This was not about the AFA per se, you the know, the “ We have to pass the bill, to find out what’s inside it” ? It was more about “Big Brother”, abuse of power and government over-reach. As others have suggested, read Animal Farm.

I guess it struck a chord. Now that it’s off the humor thread and in off-topic chit chat, we are free to comment.

Since you thought it was a dig on AFA let’s review:
Why is it that the very people who passed the AFA have exempted themselves from it? Why is it that though the AFA is the law of the land, the President is able to delay, exempt some and make changes to the bill on the fly? Do we not have a Constitution anymore? How is this possible?
Why is it that private companies like UPS are dropping health insurance coverage all together or limiting the number of hours to 30 /per week ? Because AFA is affordable? If it’s affordable, why have premiums continued to rise in double digits? The premiums are going up, not down. That’s a fact. Could it have something to do with the 25 million Americans(legal or illegal) that are being thrown into the system? Why is it that the very unions that helped in the re-election campaign are speaking out against AFA? Do you really want a panel of bureaucrats deciding on what type of medical procedures you can have? What will happen when the young people in their twenties don’t sign up to AFA? In order to work at all, AFA relies on this . This is not scare tactics. Just read the provisions. It’s all there. Facts. Go ahead and try to answer these questions. It’s a complete disaster and there’s no way to sugar coat it. Now even the lame-stream media is starting to realize this and are speaking out. Not a “phony scandal” A real scandal.

I’ve travelled all over the world and have friends in Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, Southeast Asia. Many of the so-called “ Nanny States” have government provided health care, free education, etc. It’s difficult to scale these things for a country with over 300 million people. Denmark for example, has about 5 million people. They pay close to 70% in taxes. Canada has about 30 million people, and many of my friends there tell me they envy our healthcare system. The line is long if you need surgery there. Many come to the US for major procedures. I agree healthcare is broken but the current solution takes us down the wrong road. We now have over 40% receiving food stamps and other forms of public assistance paid for by who else? The 1% you so lament. Let’s throw in a free cell phone, housing assistance and few other government programs like free pot for the poor and what do you have ? A country on the decline. Maybe that’s why so many want to immigrate here? Could it be all the “free stuff” they can get?

One solution is the current Robin Hood plan. Take from the rich and give to the poor. Unfortunately, what’s really happening is that the poor are staying poor. The rich will pay more but the middle class are the ones getting squeezed big time.

But this video was more about over-reach, government control and total abuse of power. IRS, NSA, EPA, Dept of Energy, Dept of Education, you name it. There’s a government agency out there that wants to control how you live, what you can eat, what size toilet you can have, what size of soft drink you can have, and now, what medical procedures you can have. Why do we need government in every facet of our lives? Fairness? Haves versus the have nots?

At 58, I’m saddened. I grew up during a time of great social change. Some good, and some well intended but did not turn out so good. In the spirit of helping people, the government managed to create an entitlement culture where we now have generations that have not known anything else. Food stamps and public housing were the answer. So we got places like Cabrini Green in Chicago.

I was told that if you worked hard, good things would follow. I said the pledge of allegiance every day. We were proud. We cared. The country that liberated Europe, took down the wall, fought communist oppression everywhere, sent a man to the moon, invented things like the internet and GPS not to mention some really cool airplanes, and a country that continues to provide billions in aid to the third world has lost it’s mojo.

History is not being taught in our schools. If it were, our youth would recognize the sacrifices Americans have made for the rest of world. A young French guy at our club was trashing America the other day and all I told him was: “ Go to Normandy” I’m never going to apologize for being an American. I served my country and was proud to do so. When someone trashes us, I get pissed.

Has our standard of living gone down? In my opinion, sadly it has. But it’s more about the decline in the culture and than anything. And by that I mean the moral decline. Anything and everything goes. When an Aussie baseball player gets murdered by teenagers that claimed they were just bored, what does that tell us? That we just need more gun control ? or that there’s a serious problem with our culture? What motivates a teenager to beat to death an 88 year old WW-II veteran?

Our lame-stream media spends weeks on the Zimmerman trial but spends less than a minute on the over 300 murders and 1400 shootings in Chicago this year?
The time has come to take back this country. I still hold out hope. “A rising tide, lifts all ships.” When America does well, the whole world does well. We need people working, not on the lam.

So, is this political? I suppose. I respect your beliefs, just stating mine.

Wow.....How this topic has taken a "Left" turn......!

I fail to see where any insult or calling out has been remotely implied in any aspect of any post here......Sensitive subject as it relates to privacy, freedom, social order, yes indeed.....!....and humor can also be found in the negitives of life in general.

Having been raised in this country by Italian immigrant parents, I'm sure many here cannot begin to understand the plight and urgency those who have come to this country to avoid the civil and politcal structures of Socialistic environments (post WWI, pre WWII), as those of us who have lived it do!

Had my family not been part of the "Great European Re-Structuring" process...I seriously doubt I'd be here on this forum, flying RC planes, have a Masters, raised two college bound productive members of society or be a practicing civil engineer.....with or without public or private medical care!

Sorry......., I'm off to enjoy the freedom, friendship and good weather with my planks....hope I won't need to use my Blue Shield card and have every intent to partake in a large pepperoni & cheeze washed down with a Newcastle Ale with the flying buddies afterwards...!

Pizzano,

My Italian mother used to say: "Being half Italian is like being half preganant"- LOL

Yes, still the land of opportunity for those that really want it. For those that live in their parents basement, well ? ...
