Question Magpie Build questions

I am working on building my Mountain Model Magpie and have a few questions I couldn't find the answers to in the build threads on this site.

1. There are two small wood pieces that the instructions say to glue to the leading and trailing edges of the plane. I took a pic of the wing so far - do I glue them where I have them laying? There is no pic in the instructions. Also, how to you bend and work the wood to stick since this is not a flat spot?

2. I need to cover the wing and many have said that the 3M spray glue eats the foam. I found "styrofoam safe" 3M glue spray. Has anyone used that before?

Yes, you have them in the right spot. I ended up splitting mine in the center and fitting them to the dihedral. They are just there so the rubber bands don't cut in to the wing.

Sorry I can't help with the second question but I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in.

What are you going to cover the plane with? The tape?

I'd use econocote if you have the heat gun and iron. It will look better and be lighter. I covered mine this way, no need for sticky spray.

I found stryofoam safe sticky spray at Michael's Craft store. They had the 3M77 as well, but thought I would try this first. I already bought the tape - so I think I will use it this time.

If you are going to cover a wing with tape.....
On my combat planes i use Bi-direction packing tape "SCOTCH EXTREME"
It is extremely durable, and has fibers going both ways.
I paint over it with engine enamel (glow planes).
See photos below.
