Default JR Announces 2.4Ghz 12 channel & 9 channel radio. X9303 and 12X

Discuss the new 12 & 9 channel JR 2.4 Ghz systems here. Read more about the products here:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5704479/tm.htm

JR 2.4GHz Programmable Systems
JR® is pleased to announce two new pro-class, programmable aircraft systems—the
9-channel X9303 2.4 which is coming this summer, followed by the 12-channel 12X this fall. Both will feature all the software sophistication JR is known for, PLUS the no-pins, no-crystals, no-glitches convenience and security of proven DSM2™ 2.4GHz technology by Spektrum™.

DSM2: 2.4GHz RC Technology with a Flawless Record
Unlike ordinary spread spectrum ICs, the unique chip that’s the basis for Spektrum’s 2.4GHz technology was developed specifically for RC by an avid aircraft modeler who wanted to create a robust, ultra-reliable RF link that would be immune to glitches and interference. This chip combined with Spektrum’s patent-pending DSM/DSM2 protocols, and the built-in redundancy of its DuaLink™ technology, have been the biggest revolution in RC flying since the advent of digital proportional control. It’s proven 2.4GHz technology that JR is proud to adopt––technology that’s been used with unprecedented success by thousands of RC car and airplane modelers since 2005.

Complete Integration Means Faster Response and Added Precision
Because DSM2™ technology has essentially been “built-in” to these new JR systems there is no processing time lag as there would be with a module based system. In fact, you will experience response times that are faster than any PCM system in existence. You will also enjoy two other exclusive DSM2 features you will wonder how you ever lived without—ModelMatch™ and ServoSync™.

ModelMatch puts an end to “wrong model” mishaps by preventing the receiver from responding until you select the memory settings matched to the model you’re going to fly. ServoSync automatically resequences transmitted data bits so that mixed servos receive their pulses in direct sequence. No longer will you have to endure split second differences in CCPM or dual elevator servo movement. All servos will move as if on the same channel so you can fly with absolute precision.

Complete Compatibility with Spektrum Brand DSM Receivers
If you already own a Spektrum brand radio system you will be pleased to know that both of these new systems will work with any DSM receivers you already have, including the AR6000, AR6100, AR7000 and AR9000. So, when the time comes to move up to more channels you’ll be set.

X9303 2.4 9-Channel DSM2 Aircraft System—Available Summer ‘07
As the foundation for an advanced, full-range, spread spectrum radio, it’s hard to imagine a more ideal candidate than JR’s XP9303.

A breakthrough in versatility and flexibility when it was introduced, the 9-channel, 30-model memory, 3-model type 9303 is an enormously popular radio upgrade for flyers whose skills have outgrown sport-class equipment. With software shaped by the input of top airplane, sailplane and heli pilots, plus its exclusive rolling ease and speed of programming, the 9303 remains the standard by which all 9-channel radios are judged.

And now, with the added convenience and security of Spektrum DSM2 2.4GHz technology, the newly-designated X9303 2.4 is destined to be a breakthrough once more.
Spektrum engineers have even incorporated technology that permits owners of conventional XP9303 radios to transfer all of their model programming data from their transmitters directly to their new X9303 2.4 transmitters.

JRP2910 X9303 2.4 Airplane/Sailplane DSM2 System Street Price: $729.99
JRP2920 X9303 2.4 Heli DSM2 System Street Price: $729.99

12X 12-Channel DSM2 Aircraft System—Available Fall ‘07
Big-scale and jet modelers as well as anyone else flying complex applications will love the new JR 12X.

The pro-class 12X will combine airplane and heli programming in a single transmitter. All programming functions will be easily adjusted using JR’s exceptionally intuitive Rolling Selector input system. Plus, its big, high-resolution dot matrix display will allow you to see the adjustments you make with absolute clarity.

The Bottom Line
JR programmable systems have always been known for superior quality, unmatched Horizon Hobby product support and intuitive programming that offers all the features you could ever need. With the X9303 2.4 and 12X, you will get all of this plus the addition of Spektrum 2.4GHz convenience and security making them the most advanced radio control systems ever. Simply put, these are the systems the world’s been waiting for.

Looks great but WAAAAYYYY out of my budget range. It would be nice if they would lower the price on the DX7 a bit when they release the 9 and 12 channel versions since I will eventually have to upgrade from my DX6.

It's been a while but I remember when the "cheapies" were over a grand. I hope the prices come down but in the meantime, it will be a while before I outgrow the DX6. I figured out the other day how to set up quadflaps on a plane that isn't supposed to have them using the DX6 which everyone told me wouldn't support it!

I would be willing to go as high as $625 for the new 9303, but $729.99 ... no way, too high for me. With the DX-7 at around $350, I can't justify an additional $380 for two more channels and a few more features.

The DX12 made my heart race a bit. Kind of like the first time I saw my wife. Never thought I could experience love at first sight twice

I wonder why Horizon decided to put out two 2.4 GHz brands. Seems odd, but then again maybe they're positioning Spektrum as the car and budget planes brand and reserving JR for the pro class products.

I wonder if the two brands will inter-operate; for instance I wonder if the AR6100/7000 RX will continue to work on the JR TX if a guy wanted to use it that way?

EDIT:

The whitepaper indicates the Spektrum RXs ARE compatible. Yay!.

I could have sworn I read that the 9303 will be compatable with all of the current spektrum rx's. Anyone else read this?

Then the 9303 2.4 system will be my next radio. 700 or so bucks then sell off the 7c and all of my 72 mhz rx's to buy AR6100's.

Yikes 170 bucks per rx
I'd need 2000 bucks just to refit what I have no thanks
I wasn't looking to triple the expense of every plane I build either
think I'll stick with my trusty 72 and 32 rx's full range bergs I guess they're CC now

Is there a way to visually ID a new AR6100 with the upgraded firmware vs. a non-upgraded RX? My concern is product that's been sitting in stock before the upgrades occured.

They didn't, the new high end JRs I believe have the Spektrum logo on them somewhere. I believe it would be accurate to refer to JR and Spektrum as an alliance.
So now there are 3 systems out JR/Spektrum, Futaba Fasst and the Extreme link system.
