That was the first sport glo plane I built years ago. I had a KB .40 on it and man was it a good flyer. Great looking plane. I had my engine inverted so the nose was all covered.

Makes me want to build a Kavalier again for sure. In fact I have an 80% complete Kougar I ought to convert....

Great plane you have there Steve. Mine looked just like that except it was white with dark burghandy trim and black pinstriping.

they send the rangers to Wakulla for training every now and again.

Im building my sig kiwi now, but I accidentally got a .46 for it. Will it work on this plane? or will it be too heavy n too much power?

If I remember, my KB .40 was a fairly tight fit in the nose of my Kiwi. I would think the .46 would be OK as long as it fit, the plane balances OK and your prop has enough ground clearance. You can always throttle back. You'll also want to make sure you can get enough air around the cylinder head for cooling.


P.S. It would be a much nicer plane with a brushless outrunner.

I just Hate having to wait for batteries to charge and I don't get as long of flights with electric, now all my park flyer's are electric but I just need the power and runtime of a nitro to get the job done with this plane.

It's the price more than the wait...

The route I am taking, is more batteries.

There's a couple pattern planes at the field running on electric. They are getting their full pattern time in.

Although, they are probably flying with $1000 worth of batteries... that's a lot of glow fuel.

I do love electric, dont get me wrong they are sooo much quieter and no tuning with your hands dangerously close to the prop and the weight difference, but im not going all electric for a couple years, when batteries are much more advanced.
