Unhappy Great 2.4 Ghz Giveaway left us out

Let me start by saying that I recently purchased a Spektrum system and I love it so far.:p What I don't love is this promotion. I purchased a Spektrum radio about a month or so before this promotion. After I saw the promotion I thought....maybe I will call horizon and try to get a coupon for the receivers. No dice, they wouldn't even think about it. I could have done the return thing and then purchased a new system but my morals won't let me do a thing like that. I would have bought two receivers on this deal....It's not like I had to convert to 2.4. I had a perfectly good 9 channel 72 Mhz system. I guess it just makes me mad that the people who go out on a limb and put their money into something never benefit from these promotions. Just curious as to how many people are in this boat with me?

To be fair to Horizon, I have always received good customer service from them.

everyone that bought one before the promotion is in that boat. I am...

I bought a 2001 Mazda MPV and financed it at the good rate of 4.5. 6 weeks later they went to 0% financing... missed out on that one too...

Joined the Air Force in '81, retired in '01 and never got a re-enlistment bonus... I retire and a month later they start giving bonuses to my career field...

Just luck of the draw bud...

And yeah I've always been treated right by Horizon too.

Yeah Bill, you're right. Some of us just seem to always draw the short straw. I guess i should be used to it by now.

I'm a little annoyed that buying a system with the DX6i included isn't part of the deal. I purchased my B400 a week or two before the announcement. I should have waited and purchased a 400PNP and the 6i separate. dohh.

This is a perfect example of what my father coined "Scott's Law".....

He'd buy something, and a week later, it would go on sale.

I bought my DX7 when it first came out. While it sucks that I did not get the awesome deal, I am still wicked happy with my DX7.

It crossed my mind to pick up a JR9303 2.4GHz system, but my wife beat sense into me.

Yup I was hoping to get that too.
I bought a phone and a week later they're giving away two of the same phones for $49.
I try to get on for my wife when I added a line. nope. Had to get a cheapie.

It's a tough call to out of the blue, offer the same system at a discount, they should hold off on promotions like that until the end of the year, since those are harder times to sell the gear. If it's any consolation, with what I manufacture and distribute, getting in early always get's the best rates, my prices never go down, always up and mainly due to the increased costs of materials.

I am in the same boat. Bough mine Feb.12th.

I have an idea:
consider buying a second DX7, get 2 extra receivers (plus 2 free) and then sell the TX and servos at the end of the promotion.
DX7 with AR7000 and 4 servos: $350
1 AR6200: $79
1 AR7000: $99
sell DX7: -$185
sell servos: -$60

Total cost: approx $283 +tax for 5 receivers. Average cost less than $60each.

I would have enough receivers for the next 2 years... unless I split with a friend

Food for thoughts...

Dangit. Now you have me thinking. I still want a 9303. Maybe I should sell my DX7. ARGH! Thanks Beavenx5 for putting this thought back in my head.

I have an X9303 I bought several months ago.

Just bought a DX6i + two AR7000's, I'll get two more AR7000's. I may keep the 6i for my kids, but if I decide to sell it to one of the local flyers, I'll have bought four AR7000's for 6100 prices.

When you buy the set (transmitter, reciever and ???) you do not get a second receiver even now. It is when you buy a second reciever, you get the third one free---two for one deal.

I thought when this promotion first hit, you got an additional receiver for free just for buying the Tx package. Either I read it wrong, or they changed it at some point. Probably just me reading it wrong.

There was also a time limit. As I was mailing it out, I saw that the last day that it could be post marked was April 30th.

I sent mine out after that.

I wonder if they will still honor it.

Hmmmmmm Today is April 5, so April 30 should be ok. Unless it was April 30,2007.

Just goes to show how messed up my sense of time is.

I actually thought I missed the deadline yesterday.

Phew, I feel better now.

As long as you're thoroughly confused, did you remember to put that check in the mail for me?
