Default 9xr + USB board + PC

OK - I have 9xr + USB adaptor board + PC ....

Without being told to look through 0000's of posts in a thread somewhere !! can anyone tell me what is best - RELIABLE firmware to load onto the 9xr ?

Is the supplied firmware good enough ? (I know its a version of er9x).

Once I have the solution - I would then ask if someone would be willing to go on direct comms with me - ie email / PM's to assist in the installation ?

If anyone wants to PM or email me on this - fine ... no prob.

Hi Nigel here is something to look into for the 9XR, you might need this programmer first before trying to load any other Firmware. It looks like this programmer will really wake up your Transmitter.

1st or second generation 9x

I have recently added the Flysky telemetry module which, although I have not got around to using all the possibilities, has the great bonus of beeping at me when it's aproaching the edge of its range. I am using this system with the APM 2.0 to great effect.
As others have reported the quality might not be as good as some of the better transmitters but, despite that, it's the best I have used and has not let me down in any respect in over a year of use.
If there is a "bleed over" of controls it's probably due to a too wide pulse width on one channel. This can be checked in the APM Mission Planner under "Configuration" and the button that checks the flight functions (ie stabilise, auto etc). Another coment was that the back light was not working; this needs to be turned on in the set-up page of the ER9X firmware.
I am now using Open9x firmware which seems to have added options over the excellent ER system - http://code.google.com/p/open9x/ its worth a check.

Chellie ...

I was asking about 9xr ... which already has programmer board etc. fitted.

My 9x's - I have 2 - are stock firmware and I'm happy to leave them that way ... I plan to empty one for reverting back to FlySky module for my WLtoys helis ... and the 9xr to replace it as fixed wing general.
