well, other than flooding my own topic I have made progress...
I converted the cad drawings to PDF, and they are ready to get reprinted...
and I found ALL the old pics that where on that site that got taken down...

ok, so I have made a somewhat list of what I am going to use...
for servos I am going to use the Hitec (best... brand... EVER!!) HS-81, I already have two... I just need to buy one more... (thanks, NUTs for the servos... and burning out the third one on his spit
)

and I will probably go with this inrunner, because the plans call for a brushed 400 speed... and sense the plane was designed around it, its just easier to get an inrunner rather moding it to put in an outrunner... the inrunner is just overall better for this type of nose anyway imo...

thanks nuts for the ESC... it should work perfectly with this motor!!
just one thing I wanna know if your reading this, NUTs, is, what is it rated at? there is nothing on the ESC itself... so I don't have a clue what speed it is... I think its 500? because if I recall thats what your spit was... but I am pretty sure its over 400 so I should be good with it anyways...
alright... so I just need to get some glue, wood, covering, one servo, an inrunner, a couple of lipos, a charger, a new copy of the plans, some random stuff, and a partridge in a pear tree...

OK, I'll be watching. Just remember to cut the pieces a bit big and sand them to shape. It makes it much neater. And be patient. Sandpaper=good, weight=bad. Sand down every piece a bit before gluing to make it slightly thinner, except for the parts that must be thick. Good luck!

but it was designed in the 90s... with similar "micro" servos... and a can 400, and heavy batteries... so with lipos and a lighter motor than the can(at least I think it is lighter...) it should come about about the original weight...
I have a few HS-55s... I might swap them out if it gets to heavy... but I have heard people having problems with this airplanes tailweight...
so I think it will come out pretty light considering what was originally in there...

If you can use lighter components, why not? If you work on building the tail feathers light, then you shouldn't have any issues. Remember, an ounce on the tail, is 4 in the nose.

because that motor has got POWAR!!

and it would probably be safer to put the bigger servos on it if it goes really fast... eh, not quite sure... but whatever...
again... I may just put the HS-55s on there... but I will probably stick with that motor...

P.S. now, its sounds silly... but you CAN make it to light... my Dad made a model one time that would just sit in the air because there was a slight breeze... I doubt that will happen with my spit... so again, I may put the HS-55s on there...

yeah... good point... I am considering the HS-55s anyway... another thing is, the lighter... the faster!

I think it would probably be a little better for it... as its shapped a lot more like the 400speed can... although its consider a 380speed... it would probably provide more power than even the 400speed can because its brushless right?
