So back from a bit of a RC hiatus and building some again, of course it wouldn't be a Chino Renegade build if it weren't for a few choice mods and needed updates I hadn't been on our old WF page much so I thought I should make use and see who might want to look in here again.
First is a build of a new/old Dynam Focus 400 that Nitroplanes is blowing out (the airframe parts are avail from them and Parkflyers.com for cheap), gonna make some needed updates and a few special touches to make it Renegade worthy of course.
Next is another Dynam plane, an F6F Hellcat I got second hand in bad shape...... new wings, new higher kv motor and lighter weight and better performance hopefully. I don't like their retracts so it will be fixed gear for this big bird.
Lastly yet another Dynam plane but this is a much more involved build....a Meteor jet. Those of you who know me may remember I don't do much of any EDF stuff (I don't like hot batteries and 3min flight times) and I like to mod my jets to pusher power.....this big boy will be no different I also have plans to make this as lightweight a build as possible so making it as fast and as slow for as long flying as possible lol. I built a Hobby People F16 many many years ago that was the same idea (lightweight pusher) and ended up with an 80mph jet that would fly for nearly 10min on an 1800 3s and could land at walking speed. My hope for the Meteor is near same
So pictures will be along soon, for anyone interested stay tuned.

The much modified EP400 Focus finally had it's maiden and I wasn't really happy with how unstable it was in turns as it suggested some tail work was in order . Decided to redo the vertical stab and rudder to a less angled version and actually give it a bit less vertical with more moving surface (rudder) along the lines of a North American SNJ or Texan. That seems to have done the trick as it's much more friendly and holds itself better through the turns without so much rudder addition as before ..... with such a short fuselage moment it really shouldn't have much need, even though the wing is quite large.
In this video I was still using the small 300 series EMP motor not realizing my mistake......I had orig thought it was a 370 size 1200kv but it's turned out not to be. I have now swapped in a 400 series 1350kv like I use in my Harbor Freight Mustang...... with the same 8x6 prop and 1300 3s battery that little dude gets with it. This plane is only heavier by approx 4oz so performance should be similar although top end will be down since the wing is much thicker and larger chord wise. Enjoy the silly video, it starts with me much too near to the trees thinking the plane would drift right.....haha.
Zoom Zoom!

Hi Ray Nice to see that you are still Flying, I gave up flying RC when the FAA made it mandatory to register as a drone pilot, I hate being told by big brother what to do Take care, Chellie

Hi Chellie!
Nice to know you're still watching over us on here
It may not be popular but I refuse to put up with any of that nonsense....... I am still flying the same planes in the same field as I always did. If the hobby cops at the FAA want my signature on something they can meet me at the field. They may not know what to do with me and my 3ft chrome antenna (yes I still fly FM and sometimes AM too...lol).
I'm not giving in........ just sayin
