I just got MR Power Analyzer II and it works perfect for the type of parameters I am checking.

I am just getting into this enough where I am buying decent equipment and planning on building a plane or two...

Do I need to go out and buy a watt meter when I have these nice DMMs sitting here that will tell me the voltage across two points, or the current going through a circuit, or anything else? I mean I even have enough of them where I can set multiples of them up on the circuit at once and read the amps and voltage separately at the same time, and then just multiply to get the wattage?

Hi ! Youre right, a multi meter will give the more important data you need to know when operating an electric motor. For ease of operation however you will need a shunt. I use FMA equipment and find it OK (I also have a watt meter which gives me things like RPM)
