Default Wattflyer Forums Favorite RC Vendor For 2014

Would you guys like to have a RC vendor vote for 2014? This is a biennial event and I was wondering if you would like for me to do it here on WF as well.

No pressure.

Well they did win it in 2012, but can they win it again this time?

They got a nice little plague for their office after their victory. Not sure what I will do this time for the winner.

I'm gonna vote for Aloft Hobbies. I got one of the early Taranis Tx's. Wayne frequently went "above and beyond the call of duty" to support us early adopters.

HURC is great, but I think there are too many HK fans out there for HURC to win this time around.

Going with Horizon Hobby this time around............over the last 10 months I've purchased 2 quads and several batteries their. Shipping has been very reasonable and no more than 3 day turn-a-round. Spoke with tech support twice, always great results.....!

Speaking of HH, they have lowered their shipping costs down to $2.99.

With all these favorite picks going on in this thread, it looks like we need a Wattflyer Vendor Award 2014 poll.

There is one already for RCG and 3DRC Forums and it would be interesting to see how WF members vote compared to those.

Don't know that the amount of HK fans should have any bearing on HURC winning or not. IF HURC gets the most votes, then they should win.

If someone wants to nominate HK however, they should be able to, and then have that vendor added to whatever poll is started, assuming the criteria is as you described above. If I recall correctly, polls similar in nature to this have been started in the past, and HK was specifically excluded despite requests that they be added.

Perhaps a time-frame could be noted for vendor submissions, after which point a poll will be conducted with those noted vendors, and the results published. If it's HURC, so be it.

My nomination would be for China Hobby Line. Excellent quality batteries, almost always beats any other vendor, exceptional shipping times (never more than 48 hours for my orders), most orders are free shipping, and he always adds in a lipo bag, or extra batteries free of charge. Have about 15 orders in with me, all were perfect except one, and that minor issue was taken care of in two e-mails. Good overall comments on here, RCU and RCG.

US and China location as well.

My point being is that since HK is the largest vendor in the world, a small company like HURC may not have enough fan base to win here on WF.

But we'll never know if we don't have the contest. Still waiting on the mods to allow it.

Have you guys seen what RCG did with the people's choice award? http://www.rcgroups.com/2014-terry-awards-927/ they really went all out. I was hoping WF would have got on board as well but I guess there is not enough participation here?

Love Hurc and consider them my LHS for motors, and odds and ends. Even glue.

But for foam Airplanes, it's MotionRC. Carry Freewing, FMS, Horizon, Dynam, etc. An all-star line up of arfs in the foam world. Also have a nice line of lipos.
Free shipping on orders over $75.00 and the turnaround time is outstanding. WWW.motionrc.com

For Balsa, it's Tower Hobbies all the way.

Things are getting serious over at RCG. And when I say serious I mean fun.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2295982

I wonder how it would have gone here. Same results?
