Default guillows 16.5" 500 series

howdy wattflyer, hope you all have the weather to get airborne today. I was wondering as of 2013, what are the best electronics and such to get a tiny guillows 500 series up in the air. I have flown a few under rubber-power, and have always wanted to get one up with RC. Once I get this equipment sorted out, there are plenty of build threads I can follow. Only last question is, which one would be best to build for a first attempt? Never built anything this small for RC. Thanks folks

built a few 500 series thay go together easy you do haft to cut out the notches but if look close thay are marked
The hellcat #503 Is my favorite. But to convert to rc Id try the TBF Avenger #509
Ive never built one but it looks like its got a lot of room for the electronics
The best place that i have found to buy online

You would want to use micro RC equipment similar to the stuff used in the Parkzone micro series or the similar micro series by Flyzone. Extremely light RX and servos with good power and response speed for these models.

Tiny (< 10 gram) motor and 2 cell appx 200 mah LiPo for power. (depending on the model and performance desired... maybe up to 20 gram motor and up to 500 mah 2 cell LiPo)

I expect that by now almost all have been done by someone... and you can search for specific conversion articles to get information on what will work (and what won't) for any specific kit.

Look up member "Bill G". He has done about a dozen build threads on converting guillows 16.5" - 24" rubber models to RC. Amazing work!

For scratch building small planes i think Jurgen B in Germany is the best at desighning them and building them ,Freddie B on that small plane list on RCG also .This is the latest one of Jurgens builds with a 2 cell 200 or 260 lipo and 2 gram servos . Jurgen emailed me a link to his new small jet trainer and plans are here also. joe
