What's your newest Plane?

Just got home from SEFF and a few things just jumped in the trailer and followed me home!
I bought a used Hobby King Waco for a great price I think. Looking froward to getting it in the air. I wrecked my Radian XL in the sailplane contest, still not sure what happened, never will I suppose so I bought me a new one as I really like it.
The biggies were a great friend won a Flex QQ Extra in the raffle and we worked a trade out for it. And I also bought a 8ft Telemaster kit for a really good price as well.
Got some work ahead of me now!

A buddy came back from SEEF with the Eflight F-27 Evolution and after watching his fly, I had to have one. What a nice package for the price. Even came with a 4S battery. Took me all of 15 minutes to remove from the box and assemble. The box doubles as a convenient carrier. Took another 15 minutes to program the DX9 It comes with AS3X and SAFE. The nice thing about SAFE with this RX is you assign it to a switch to disable.
You can even get the optional FPV nose that has a transmitter and camera. About $45.00
Maidened yesterday. What a hoot ! Used SAFE for hand launch then switched over after takeoff. Set my low rates slightly higher than the SAFE rates. Can flip her into higher rates with altitude as my friend. She'll roll like a drill bit on high rates.
I ran on the provided 4S Thrust 1800 35C, an Admiral 4S 2200 35C and RT 2600 4S 80C. Not a lot of difference amongst the three. Raced my buddy and we were close but he does a better job at gaining speed through a dive than I do. Might run a little better if I balance the prop. She'll do 105 mph easy but also fly very well slow. .
A whole bunch of guys are getting this plane at our field. Enough to have quite a gaggle.
On my last flight of the day, I misjudged our tree line ( Depth perception) on final and clipped a branch. She came down and plopped on her belly . No real damage except for one of the camlock plastic nubs on the nose cone broke off. I can use tape to hold it on.
Fun plane ! Great value for what you get.

Not a plane. But one of the coolest things I've seen in the hobby in years. Designed developed for the PC simulators.

While at the field yesterday, one of our members, a highly accomplished 3D heli pilot and an AA captain demonstrated a new toy he was testing. He told me he was looking for something new to keep his interest alive in the hobby. He found it.
Real , physical flight controls tied -in to his DX9. The setup comes with a yoke and rudder pedals as well as a collective quadrant for heli flying. The collective controls shown in the picture (right) can be swapped out with a throttle quadrant for fixed wing flying. He had a Dx8 working with his DX9 to show buddy boxing. Imagine flying your new F4 Phantom sitting in the cockpit. Then take it home a fly a CAT 3 into Heathrow with a Concorde.
I actually sat in the chair to get a feel for what it is like. Very cool. Now you can experience flying as if you're sitting in the left seat. A second transmitter could be used for buddy boxing or for back-up
Apparently, this rig was developed for the PC simulator world and is commercially available for about $1,300. The quality and fit and finish is really good.

New girl in the shed form Motion RC. Waiting on graphics from Callie. Bottom pic is the NJ Air National Guard livery that she'll wear. The model don't exactly match but it don't make any never mind, I'm going with it.

Awesome Lead!
I'm waiting on the ARF+ in late June. Like a squirrel collecting acorns, I've been preparing.
Have a Changesun 12B/ RC Lander 1620kv 6S setup going in with 130 amp esc. Adding the 3DP whistle, cockpit and nozzle upgrades as well as the RC Geek AB. Working on the drag chute mod from RCjetdude over on Hobby Squawk & RCG. Actually bought a spare rear fuse and am near completion.
As I'm Navy, I'm going to repaint. Going with the VFC-111 Sundowners livery. Already have the graphics from Callie.
After reading about Eddie P 8000 mah 6S lipo experience, I'm adding that to my list to go for a 5 min flight time.
Headed to Jet Jam in Louisville on the 14th where there will be quite a few F4's to drool over.
Can't wait !

Did a little trading over the weekend and got a .40 sized Kyosho Stearman. It has one bad spot on the covering to be fixed but overall it is pretty nice.
already started thinking of ways to get a battery hatch in in so I can convert her over.

Karmic Ghia / VW.
I want to know when that Corsair is going back under the knife!
And my newest plane - eFlite T-6. Not as happy as I had hoped. Landing gear is problematic at best. I will probably fly it with the gear down to practice T/O and landing and turn of SAFE as ground handling is terrible when active and combined inputs - I.E. full up elevator on taxi and takeoff until tail is ready to come up. X-winds cannot be handled properly and it just won’t turn even with full rudder on ground.
Right main gear kept swiveling until I got some locktite on the grub screw, and I have had to land it twice with gear up when it would not come down. Second time was today after 2 flights. Felt a bit more confident since the swivel was cured and then it hung up on the third flight. Of course it works fine after a belly landing...

VW ay....
I can't understand why manufacturers can't spend another dollar or two and fit decent retracts. Dynam did the same and everyone had to upgrade them as well. Very disappointing affair.

Corsair is tabled until summer flying season is over and my boy heads back off to college and then the USAF. We have the cars to work on in the nice weather and get out and fly what is already done.
#2944

Looks pretty straight and obviously not a lot missing which makes it easy.
#2945

Yeah it is not terrible but does have some issues, namely around the lower front apron and rocker panels. but relatively straight. Working on a motor this summer to at least get it running again. Already have the Porsche 901 5 speed gearbox and disc brakes all around, heavy duty sway bars, and lowered a tad.

Since returning to the hobby back in November , my newest is now the T6 from eFlite. While I love flying it, I wish the retracts instilled a bit more confidence with regard to reliability. Stability mode is active when the gear is down, thanks to some clever programming AKA dumb luck.
Add 2 Balsa builds and Now I have a nice problem of “what do I want to fly today”.
Got 2 kits in the shop closet for more builds and a Ryan most of you know about.
The Army Cub actually came together after I got the PT-17, and being a build it gets flown with a little extra care, but just as fun.

My all time favorite jet. The iconic McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II. Was not the most maneuverable but what it lacked in maneuverability it mad up for in speed. Mach 2 baby! O to 60,000 ft in under 2 minutes. Also carried a lot of firepower.
This new 90mm scale replica is made by Freewing and sold through Motion RC and Castle RC. The standard setup is 6S but they also have a 8S option. Strong, grass friendly retractable LG with a wide stance. Nav lights, flaps, full flying stab. 60" long by 41" WS .
I bought he ARF+ which comes with everything installed except EDF and esc.
The Stock versions come standard with USAF SEA Camo but mine is going to fly over the beach. Go Navy ! I''ll be painting mine in Navy Gull Gray with the VF-111 Sundowners livery provided by Callie Graphics.
Motion RC provides free STL files to 3D print scale canopy details, J-39 Nozzles, the nerf whistles, and even a ladder. My buddy is busy printing away.
A few mods I'll be doing:
1). The drag chute mod. There's a guy who sells a short kit over on Hobby Squawk- RCjetdude. I've already made this by buying a spare rear fuse section. Works great !
2). Center Afterburner from RC Geek- It's a cluster of LED's mounted on the back of the edf. Pretty cool
3) 6S 1620kv RC lander inrunner with 12 blade Changesun fan

It's been a long time, fellow electrified geeks!
Time to get back into the hobby again after a slow 2017. I had almost forgot the joy of buying and assembling a plane! But it finally happened. Extreme Flight 52" Slick set to replace my aging 3DHS 51" Slick that's held together by popsicle sticks and patches.

Nice One Swede .... I have to admit I prefer Extreme Flight to PA .... EF seem to be a bit stronger / resistant to those bad moments !!
Me ? New planes are a matter to leave alone at present - until my workshop gets ready to accept !!
I keep looking at various ... then I drag out one of my oldies ..... dunno bout others - but I forget how good some of my oldies are. My 64mm T45 - example - flies as good today as it did all those years ago I bought the kit.
