My house has its own private boat channel on the river ... but recent years and weather changes - the water level and growth has made it less use for my larger yacht. It was decided to invest in a decent pontoon and set it along river bank for my 8m sail yacht.

This the saga of getting the 6m x 2.4m pontoon to my channel !!

Its arrived ... had real job getting it started on journey upriver from launch point. Wind was blowing onto shore and we kept running aground getting tow lines sorted. Caught prop blades on a few rocks - so will need hammer and file to sweeten the edges back again.

Truck arrives with HIAB lift ...

She's in and just end grounded to stop her wandering off !



Push by hand she was afloat ..



Move to jetty end ready for me to bring mobo to tow her home .



Under tow about 1/2 mile to my channel ... mobo has 20HP O/B ... made her grunt a bit !!



Stopped outside channel to shorten tow .... and then pull her into channel so I can sort chains / lines and sinkers to set her up.



Intention is to set her outside the channel but pulled into the grass ... SA can then moor to the outside river side ...

It will need about 4 - 5m walkway out to her from the bank.

Deck is impregnated wood .... as used by Marinas in UK.

I plan for more to create an extended area for my boats. One will be modified with bathing ladder etc. for river swimming.
