Default What A Stunning Day For Flying!!!!!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know what a great day I had yesterday.
Took the afternoon off work as it was bright and sunny with light winds so I packed my planes up in the van and took off to my local aerodrome.

I took the big J3 Cub, Cessna 182 and the Waco bipe. Boy did I get some hours in, approx 7 in total, and I managed to use 13 lipos.

One of those moving tress got in my way though and it was the only damn tree there so I had to nip back home for a 15 minute surgery session to fix the 182.

All in all though it was one of my best flying days with some excellent landings and smooth take offs too.

I also tested my Cessna 182 as I have just fitted proper flaps and I must say they worked a treat.

Anyway I hope you are all enjoy flying

Tara for now

It was but the sad thing is that over here in the UK we very rarely get two days the same unless it is raing or windy ofcourse!!!!

I have to say it really did give me a boost with all that flying.

I hope more on here get good days like that!

All the best co pilots

Lucky you Nidge.

Tuesday was a great flying day here as well, at least it was in the morning until the wind picked up in the afternoon. Probably the first decent patch of flying weather for a couple of weeks.

So naturally I had a morning appointment for Retinopathy Screening, (eye check related to diabetes), that left me with 'foggy' eyes until well after the wind sprang up again. So missed another one.

Where I am in Wales seems to be where the wind always gets funneled up our valley, and my site is naturally on the side of the valley so is even limited on wind direction.

I really should take up slope soaring, the Bwlch slope soaring site, (yes that is the correct spelling), is only 15 minutes up the road, but I never enjoyed slope soaring. And now age is setting in, so standing on a wind swept hill side doesn't seem like fun anymore.

But one day.........probably in the middle of winter.......

The winter is often blessed with much lower wind speeds - you just have to wrap up well!

Nidge, that fantastic day must have been countrywide. It was the best day for ages down here in East Devon - just perfect for electric flying - we took full advantage of it as well.
Happy days!
