I just left, it was hard saying goodbye to those helis, haha kidding, we had fun but little challenging with wet grounds, tail blade burns on the 180 cfx , think i am going to get orange or green ones to match the trex 450... Forgot but newjaks color scheme for the 600 size is sick. I like it those new canopies pop

This is the basic FPV I was talking about. http://www.getfpv.com/fpv/fatshark-t...o-goggles.html. I'm looking at getting the next model up from this one
I can't wait to see the FPV work.
Hobby Stop in Seaford told me the local
RC Flyers down there are doing FPV dogfighting.

I am now looking to upgrade my quad control system. I was looking at the Naza but now I think I will go for the APM 2.6. I like the features including the Mission Planner software that allows waypoint flying

[QUOTE=SmoothCruizer;970929]Newjak, here's the monitor I just got, the pilot uses...I like this dude's setup a lot
make sure you put video on youtube for 60 fps
I just ordered a new flight control system for my quad. I am undecided on which type of ground station I will go with. The one you linked to looks good

A trick I came up with during the course of building a few Slow Sticks is to take a craft stick (popsicle stick) and narrow it just enough to fit inside the Slow Stick stick. I then cut it into 1" pieces, epoxy 3 together and epoxy them into the end of the stick. This not only beefs up the end of the stick a bit, it provided something solid to screw into for the screw that fastens the motor mount in place.

Just finished maidening it. Flew great, only needed some nose up trim. Flies dead slow at about 1/3 throttle. A 6 minute flight (to establish a baseline), averaging 1/2 throttle, resulted in a per cell volt reading of 3.97 - to 3.99 (the pack was at 4.1-4.13 initially). Looks like 20 minutes or more should be easy with light throttle.

Hey everybody. Just letting you know I'm still here. Still working on my Edge 540 but I have everything for it. I also picked up a mini quad which fed the need for a bigger quad. I went back to the ground for the winter but am trying to get back in the air soon.

Good to hear from you. I would really like to see that Edge in the air. i went through boat mania a few months back and now I'm going thru multi rotor mania. I picked up a quad last month and I'm already looking forward to my next build. Next up will be a hex our maybe an octo.

I bought the Electrohub from Flitetest with the intention of converting it to a dragonfly setup after it cut my chops on piloting a larger quad. I want to eventually have a gimbal and do some aerial video so I figured going a dragonfly would give me the maneuverability and speed of a tri-coper with 2 extra motors for lifting power.
I also picked up a Eflite Taylorcraft 450 last night and a nice older Hots 40.

Pretty cool......I tested my FPV 2 part camera/transmitter, works good. Like looking through one of my security cameras
...
the image quality should just do the job using the monitor. they have camera/transmitter combos for small aircraft on Banggood.com cheap now, well now everyone is getting quad, I ordered a 250mm quad kit for put together during the year. not a racing version but just something else to play with FPV quad style instead of the Cub setup I just tested. these transmitters get warm just testing so I can see it needing constant airflow
