This is REALLY cool. Not a lot of application for an average RC'r. But still really cool technology nonetheless.

I am guessing these developers are "cat people".

I like the idea of the visco-elastic foam (i.e. memory foam) built into the landing gear. I think this would have lots of possibilities in the landing gear of a conventional RC plane. And I have a pile of it in my shop! (Lots of aircraft seat cushions are made of this stuff.)

Those are some pretty cool gripper claws he came up with, but guys have been "landing" on walls with 3D planes for several years.

I'll look for some videos.....

Yes this is cool it is being developed for the government for spying on the enemy. I was reading this on AOL they want to be able to fly it in and hang it on a building. A day or even a week later fly it off and fly it's mission.

Larry those flying cars are neat.

Roof landings and touch-and-goes are fun too.

Hmm, they had something on the History Channel today about a new type of pad used for scaling walls. They had these "pads" on something that looked like a robotic frog.

Pad would grip as long as there was slight downward pressure, soon as forward motion was applied they would release so the foot could move forward. Had em climbing/hanging onto glass sheets to demo them.

Well,
As for my expertise I wouldn't exactly call it landing when I'm on the wall..
