Cool! That reminds me of something the Swiss are doing where they use Electroactive Polymers, which can act like an artificial muscle, to propel an airship. I did some research on Electroactive polymers during my recent internship, and they are pretty neat. That Festo stuff is really cool too, very graceful.

The Fest stuff uses artificial muscles as well (I think).

Very cool technology. If they could just get us some artificial muscles that could run an ornithopter

Yeah, it is pretty cool stuff. Some people are trying to use them in ornithopers:
