Default DX7 Flight Timer

Anyone know if the timer can be started with throttle up and paused with throttle down like on the Optic6?

There is no provision for starting or stopping the timer with anything other than the "Increase" or "Decrease" keys.

One other thing I do not like about the 7's timer is it only beeps at the end. The 6i beeps every minute.

Because it is a heli Tx as well as conventional aircraft, it would not work correctly with timer stops at throttle stick positions .... as full down stick and full up stick can both be full throttle.

Hmmm, you'd think that being a computer radio it wouldn't be that hard to allow for that in programming.

Just stumbled across this thread while looking for recommendations for standalone timers.. I never even realised my DX7 had a timer built in!.. Doh!

Morale of the story.. when all else fails read the manual!
