See the Jan issue of Park Pilot mag where I reviewed the kit. It's a nice model. The only real mod I made was the hinge mech for the empennage - I used 1/6 ply instead of the 1/64 in the kit. Also could use more power but I was flying on a nicad - a 3s lipo might work better.

Thanks for the pictures and info. You did an awesome job on the motor and fuel tank! Puts mine to shame for sure. I'm going to run mine on a 12mm brushless with the stock gearbox on 3S, and I also made some "wire" wheels for it.

Rush - One thing that I forgot to add last night is that you must keep the power on all the way to the floor. If you cut too abruptly the thing comes down like a ton of bricks. I broke the balsa wheels this way. Also, make abs sure that you d/n have a warp one wing vs the other - if you do it won't turn at all to one side. Last, the elev and rud should be set to "all you can get"!!! Doing the cables (show and functionals) the way they tell you to is fiddly, but it is the way to do it.

I redo BMW motorcycles so conjuring the flat twin detail was easy for me! The engine is so prominent, I could't resist.....

Thanks for the great advise casor! I am looking forward to flying her - just need to finish covering and install radio gear. I also have the Antoinette and Deperdussin kits stashed away for future builds - I love Sig kits.

Here are pics of my engine, tank and wheels in case anyone is interested.

Your engine looks very nice and will look great on the plane. The overall effect with the wires and the other detail will be great.

BTW I presume you realize this is an indoor only model.....!

Thanks for the compliment on the engine. Yes, I know it's an indoor model, but I also plan to fly it on calm dawn patrol missions at the park. When we aren't having the Santa Ana winds around here, the mornings are often extremely calm. The review of it on rcgroups has videos of it flying outside on a windless day - it's a real cool/unique looking aircraft in the air.

Looking at it puts that song in my head: "Those magnificent men in their flying machines.... they go up tidly up-up, they go down tidly oun-down..."

Sorry to sidetrack this thread, BTW.

Here is what I have got out in the garage. All are currently ready to go at a moments notice.

Planes:
3D Hobby Shop Extra 300SHP
Eflite Mini Pulse XT
Parkzone T-28 Trojan
Copperhead Aviation Extra Stiffy
GWS Slow Stick

Helicopters:
Align T-Rex 500cf
Align T-Rex 450se V2

Here are a couple of pics of the fleet. I just built the Stiffy last week so it was not in the group shot. I will have to drag everything out and get a new group shot before I go to the field next time.
