well, H.G. i gots some soldering to do. i can tin. i can do copper, but really never tried my hand at soldering connectors to new batteries. and i have to change new charger's aligator clips to banana clips to plug into dc power supply.
i did get some advice though. don't touch positive and negative leads together

bill, youtube has a good video on connectors on lipos. first thing this guy does is to remove tape from both wires of lipo

A soldering station (or "third hand") is worth it's weight in gold for good connections. I'd suggest going to Deans plugs as well. I'm really liking them - good solid connections - and idiot proof once they are soldered correctly.
