Default Anyone running 3S on the Turnigy Plush 6 amp ESC?

I've got one of these I'd like to put in my Cox P-51 with a 10g motor and a 3S 500 mAh 20C lipo. The web site says it will run on 3S but not warranted. Does anyone have any experience with this one on 3S?

Here's the motor:

Thanks,

I noticed in the link for the motor, there is a customer discussion list at the bottom of the page, lots of useful info there. Some of the users use 3s, but mostly 2s.

The usual comments on using a 3s over a 2s, are, - you need to fit a smaller prop to keep the current within spec, and - 3s are heavier than 2s if flying 3D. Depends on if you want power, 3s, or lightweight , 2s.

Thanks a lot Ray. I'll have to check out the discussions on the page. I know Joe1320 uses a 3S with his 10g motors in his Cox Warbirds but I'm not sure exactly which ESC he uses. I will be a using a smaller prop (the stock Cox prop) so I'm probably OK.

My concern would be that even if you stay under the 6A, this ESC might not be capable of dropping the voltage to the Rx and servos down to the typical 5v (one assumes it can deal with 7-8v in and reduce it to 5v out, but what about 11-12v in - ?v out)!

Thanks,
Sure am running that ESC on 3s. In fact just today. I put the second flight on my EDF 30 Salamander with a custom Feigao 7500kv installation. Running at up to 3A and holding up well so far. Besides myself, there was another guy on the HC reviews that claims he is doing it also. I ran it around 4.5A on the bench on 3s.

I like the TBird 6 ESC, but I'm tired of paying the price for it. At this point, about the only advantage for me is that it will run 2 EDF30 fans with a single ESC using the 5866kv motors. Castle ESCs are about the only brand that will run 2 inrunners on 1 ESC, but I don't think you will be doing that anyways on a P51.
