Default Looking for Speed?

If I would be looking for true SPEED out of an ordinary looking "Park Flyer" then, I would seriously consider the Multiplex FUN JET:

Default After one solid year or more, she flys again!

Guys,

Wow, I can't believe that I just shelved this wonderful RC Flying Wing (XE-2) Combat Wing.

I spend a few hours in getting her ready (mostly tape and minor adjustments) and lets not forget Dusting Off!

Here are a few pictures of it still with the HITEC FLASH-4 Transmitter and Hitec 6-Channel Receiver. Talk about high Tech! LOL!

Video!

Guys,

Didn't have any time to PM anyone to let them know of my plans of going down to visit family during New Years Eve and welcoming 2015 and saying goodbye to 2014.

My plans were at the last minute and did pretty good packing all the things including my Combat Wing in my mother's new ride, 2014 Toyota RAV-4 XLE.

A few pictures of the action at the field and it was just an amazing Thursday morning!

I flew my Combat (XE-2) Wing 6+ flights!!!

I can't believe that I had this Wing for over 10 years now!!!

Guys,

Had a wonderful time at the RC Club this morning and had an exciting time getting my Combat (XE-2) Wing into a tall Pine Tree at Full Throttle. No doubt it was complete PILOT Error, however, I did have my Smart Phone in my Pants pocket and left the ringer pretty loud. As my wing was coming in for a dive for another fast pass, the phone started to ring and lost concentration.

I was shocked because I had thought I had cleared that ugly Pine Tree and .....slam....the wing lodged itself about 45 feet up.

No damage whatsoever and brought my buddy with a Utility Pole and he didn't need the carbon fiber fishing pole extension.

Here is the video:

Guys,

After perhaps almost 2 years of not flying it, my beloved ZAGI wing came with me after working on it for about 3 hours early this morning with a couple modifications and improvements.

The Yellow Wing with the NAVY Markings is the ZAGI wing. The RED one is the heavier COMBAT Wing.

Combat XE-2 that is especially made for Li-POLY use (EPP Foam pre-cut for CG purposes) and the Zagi wing that comes with the plastic Fuse housing and you can slide things a bit. The Combat Wing (XE-2) is powered by a MEGA 16/15/-4-turn swinging the APC "E" 6X4 and at wide open it draws at 21.3 AMPs (when you place a brand "new" Thunder Power Pro-Lite 2100, 3-cell) and measured Propeller RPMs at 17,3000

The Zagi was converted over to Brushless in 2008 and it is both EPP and injected foam and is NOT made for COMBAT so, I placed a more dosile power system, the Himax HC2825-2300 inrunner with the exact same propeller! This power system draws a maximum of 17 AMPs at wide open with 15,800 RPMs at the propeller However, because it is 7oz. lighter than the Combat Wing it is pretty fast as well.

A few pictures!

Default 12 Long Years with the Same Combat Wing and Mega Brushless Motor!

As you may have noticed on the very first post, I have had this Combat Wing XE-2 since February 2005 and been enjoying it very much. I just can't believe 12 long years has gone by! The Mega 16/15/4-Turn has been there since I bought it from a University of Central Florida (UCF) student and I have replaced the Elevons twice and recovered the tape once. Otherwise, it's been patched up here and there but, NEVER has disappointed.

Looks a heck of a lot like the CrashTest Assassin I am putting together at the moment. More flying, less fixing equals more fun!

I have an old TowerPro bell motor ready to go on it (yeah, you remember those) but will look into the MEGA as another option. Thanks!

I don't have a short temper. I just have a quick reaction to B.S.
