I finished up a couple more this summer.
An old Das Little Stick by Midwest and a Goldberg Falcon 56.
I probably won't get to test them until next summer though.

payne,

Especially love the Super Connie. Would like one in commercial livery, like TWA. Where did you find the short kit and what did you use to power this beast ?

4X 40 amp ESC's

Takeoff power consumption 1.5-1.6 KW

Here is my engine run up test:

Default Connie

Dave

Great looking builds!

I remember the Connie quite well.
Flew from Ca. to Hi. on a military Connie,
in 1954, it had wooden benches fore & aft
next to the fuse sides.
There was a lot of shaking going on, & I
guess it was the engineer that came back
& stated we were at the point of no/return.
It didn't help any ones feelings.

Regards
Jimmy

guys and gal,

Been thinking about my next plane(s) as Black Friday gets closer. Want another edf and will go for the FW Stinger 90 or maybe the new 80mm F5.

But I also want a general purpose sport aerobatic flyer like an Edge 540, Extra 330, Cap 232. 3D is not a requirement.

Want an arf balsa plane in a 40 size that I can transplant my 870kv Omega 130 or SK3 1000kv and a few Hitec 82mg's.

Looking at the GP Sportster EP, HK Vans RV-4, Sig 4 star and the Phoenix models. Even a Decathalon. Just want something I can zip around the field with. Practice some basic aerobatic maneuvers. Not into the hovering.

Thoughts?

Thanks Joe and Fish,

So many on my wish list but ... Right now , my favorite is my Phoenix EMB 312 Tucano. I'm really impressed with the quality they put out . Built like a brick "out house" ( was going to use another term)

Think I might go for the Sportster first for about $105.00 shipped from Tower as I have the gear to stuff into that one. Then get the Stinger 90 or F5 later.

I just picked up an Eflite Mig 15 to replace the Sbach I sold since I've always wanted to try an EDF, and also finished up a Flying Hobbies Python (the Mark Rittenger design from about 10 years ago). Hoping to get to fly one of them soon...

Joe,

I went ahead and ordered the Sportster after watching one fly at our field. Pretty nice.

I have an Omega 130 870kv or a SK3 100kv to use, hitec servos, 50 amp esc.

I think I can be forgiven for this one ......

58" Extra 300 by Extreme Flight ..... shop was selling on when they started flying larger Krill models Sbach.

Only thing this has an OS FS70 up front .... not electric.

Photo tmrw once sorted.

Nigel,

I've seen this plane at our field. Awesome. The guys that fly the EF's swear they are much better built than the 3DHS models. Congrats.

Just bought a Flyzone Corsair, a Parkzone Mosquito and a SE5-A (now discontinued I guess). Also have a HP Squall to build. I have the vector thrust unit for it .

Very soft to me. I installed light balsa and covered then with monocoat. Added strapping tape on the underside of the wings and also added a servo on each wing for the ailerons. didn't trust 1 servo for all 4 ailerons. I also run a 4 cell 1800/30C pack instead of the 3 cell 2200/30C. LOTS MORE PULL! Very tough plane. I had a HARD landing when the prop shaft broke and it stalled and belly flopped. The motor was the only damage other then grass stains. For a cheap plane it been a great plane as i almost never keep them stock out of the box.
