Thank you! Apparently, the ESC has to be replaced too. Guess I will hold off.

A brand new PZ UM J-3 Cub and the HobbyZone Champ can be had for only a few dollars more.
I would keep a lookout for a used Spektrum brick from one of the following planes:
- Vapor
- Ember 2
- UM J-3 Cub
- UM Sukhoi
- UM P-51
- HZ Champ
- Or a Spektrum AR6400 RX
The only difference between all of these bricks is the Vapor/Ember/Champ/J-3 Cub are dumbed down versions without the extra aileron channels and X-port. But for a 3ch plane like the Citabria, you don't need these options.

I may just be golden then. I just happen to have a brand-dang-new AR500 laying here on my desk. So, it is a fairly simple swap? The 210 has been opened before so I am not too apprehensive about tackling it.
(By the way, I have a Champ - LOVE.IT!)

And this is what the existing brick in the Cessna 210 looks like... you have to replace this with the AR6400 above which is DSM2 (Spektrum) compatible.
