That one is by a guy called "boomer" over on RCGroups. He is the ultimate Slow Stick perverter. He is the one with the 8 motor (yes, I said EIGHT MOTORS) version. He has tons of pics and vidoes posted over there. Some of that stuff is just jaw dropping awesome.

I have enough trouble buying them one at a time..

If you could gear reduce your 400tx to turn a 10 or 11x4.7 at 5500 rpm I think you'd see amps drop by 30 to 50% and slow speed control would be much crisper with more air pressure on the control surfaces and quicker acceleration on throttle up.
I think...
therefore I am...
probably an idiot...

Tried the 9x4.7 over the weekend. I can definitely tell a drop in performance. I measured with the watt meter and got 14.5 amps static, 148 watts. Amp draw is probably slightly lower in flight. I'll stick with the 8x6 for now unless I have another failure real soon.

Edit: I just saw that P38 Stick on page 2. Very nice! I have 2 geared Feigo 12mm LPS brushless setups laying around. Maybe a Pico P38 Stick? The LHS has one right now for 20 some bucks.

It's on the list I have one wing and some parts still left over from the last build might be a fun one to fly

I like that twin boom version
Are you using 1 or two servos for your rudders?
You could take that center aileron cutout and make a flap out of it! Probably wouldn't need it but it would look cool.

Video is here: http://www.dawnpatrol.iwarp.com/photo3.html
(Not direct links, but will get you to the RCG thread where the video is)
More pics of perversion here: http://www.dawnpatrol.iwarp.com/photo5.html
and all the perversion you would ever want to see, but were too afraid to ask is here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...&page=65&pp=10
Hope that helps!

Oops, didn't see your second question. Yea, you could make the center a speed brake, but I think it would just get in the way of my bomb drop box, or camera, or my jato rockets

I already have flaps, and when the ailerons didn't work out ( they suck on a Slow Stick wing), I made them into flaps as well. Take off rolls realy short now and she floats in for a landing

One of our flying cabal has an aileron equipped SS. Flies really well. Rolls etc. Inverted flight and so forth. Still floats in for landings too.

Naw, I like it just the way it is. Besides, who has time to rework old ideas?:p
On to the Slow Stick flying boat and the Ducted Fan Stick
(So many ideas, so little money...)

Hey Bob,
How are you? I see you found your way over here also!
In all fairness, you must at least give me credit for posting a pic of one of your planes (Sopwith Bipe).:p
Stay away from them lightpoles man!
