Default EFlite Apprentice and T34 Mentor Battery Packs

Both the Apprentice and Mentor ship with 3S3200 15C battery packs but they are very expensive and I would like to grab a few more packs.

Anyone using other brand packs with same specs but lower cost?

Model number /links appreciated.

Thanks for quick response.

How much hands on experience do we have on these? The Zippy and specifically the Rhino batteries earned their good reputation for quality (life cycles, durability and consistent performance over those cycles)

(Looking for batteries that are comparable to EFlite or ESky OEM batteries, not top shelf THunder Power batteries.)

I use the same brand of 1800, 2200 and 3000 packs with excellent results. I have about 8 months on the 1800's and 6 months on the 3000's. Zero issues from me.

At less than $16 per pack the risk is mighty low to be honest.

Agreed - low risk. I'll take a look at the range of batteries and see if they have something for the Radian that takes a smaller 3S1300 pack.

I'll see if anyone has started a compatibility /longevity thread and if not I'll start one and get some baseline data.

More info on batteries from HobbyPartz

http://site.hobbypartz.com/battery/batterytest.htm

What we need is data to compare these batteries with ParkZone.

Does anyone have any idea who manufactures the Parkzone batteries? My sense is that the Parkzone batteries are actualy pretty high quality.

I use Turnigy packs: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=15003

Or flightmax packs:

I've actually been using 4s 4000mah pack in my T-34, flys like a bat out of hell, but the motor gets hot so it needs a 10 min cooldown between packs.

I dont have any data, but a good buddy of mine thats a heavy duty pattern flyer has been having good results with SKY lipos ( available on the same site linked above). Based on his usage I purchased 3 several months ago and they seem to perform quite well in my birds.

Mine are the 3S2200 30C, and I'll proly buy some more if they hold up.

YMMV

Are you running stock ESC and motor ? How long have you been running the hopped up battery?

Stock E-flite 25 motor, APC thin electric 12x8 prop, but I replaced the stock 40A with a E-flite 60Amp pro ESC. (neccessary for the 4S)

Bought a 3000 MAH. Blue Lipo pack from Hobbypartz and am impressed with how it performs compared to a stock eFlite 3200 pack. Same performance for less than half the price.
